Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood join forces for “If I Didn’t Love You” duet.

After lots of anticipation, the country superstars shared their brand new collaboration on Friday (July 23). The song begins with Aldean singing the opening verse before Underwood joins him in perfect harmony for the infectious chorus. Underwood then takes on her verse while the piano and guitar driven instrumental flawlessly blends with her powerhouse vocals.

“If I didn’t love you I’d be good by now / I’d be better than better, getting by somehow / Yeah, it would be not to miss you / Wonder about who’s with you / Turn the want you off wherever I want to / If I didn’t love you, if I didn’t love you,” Underwood and Aldean harmonize during the song’s chorus.

“We were pretty close to finishing up this album, but this song came in and we knew we had to record it,” Aldean said. “I went ahead and put my vocals down while we asked Carrie in the meantime. Luckily she loved the song and it was kind of like a rocket from there. She did her thing like only Carrie can…and I don’t know how, but she made it sound even better than what we expected. It’s a really special song to start this album.”

“If I Didn’t Love You” will appear on Aldean’s upcoming tenth studio album.

While Underwood and Aldean have never recorded music together in the past, both of the country hitmakers have had many of duet partners. “If I Didn’t Love You” marks the first collaboration that they’ve recorded together. However, the two country superstars did perform alongside each other in 2010 at CMA Festival in Nashville, performing Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City.”

Aldean previously worked with Kelly Clarkson on their collaborative track “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” as well as Miranda Lambert (“Drowns The Whiskey”), Kelsea Ballerini (“First Time Again”), Tyler Farr (“Damn Good Friends”), Luke Bryan & Eric Church (“The Only Way I Know”) and more.

Underwood has worked with several superstars for duets, including Keith Urban (“The Fighter”), Brad Paisley (“Remind Me”), Vince Gill (“How Great Thou Art”), Randy Travis (“I Told You So”), Willie Nelson (“Always On My Mind”), Tony Bennett (“It Had To Be You”) and more recently NEEDTOBREATHE (“I Wanna Remember”) in addition to many others.

“If I Didn’t Love You” follows Aldean’s 25th No. 1 “Blame It On You.”
