After teasing fans throughout social media yesterday, Jason Aldean has confirmed his new single will feature powerhouse vocalist Carrie Underwood!
The chart-topping superstar and Georgia native announced that a duet called “If I Didn’t Love You” on Wednesday (July 21), however, he didn’t reveal who he enlisted as the guest on the new track. Instead, Aldean shared a photo of himself alongside an empty green box with a question mark over it. In addition the photos, the graphic also included the song’s name “If I Didn’t Love You” as well as his name and a blank space for the featured artist’s name, which he did not disclose at the time of announcing the duet.
“We’ve got a brand new song coming your way this Friday! Who do y’all think is singing on this one with me?” Aldean captioned the social media post, asking fans to guess who they think is featured. The Aldean Army quickly figured out the featured guest after brightening up the image, which found Underwood’s press photo hiding behind the green overlay.

On Thursday (July 22), Aldean confirmed that Underwood will be appearing on the track that comes out on Friday via Twitter by retweeting Underwood’s tweet that was a repost of his duet teaser but with an emoji raising its hand.

“There ya have It! Can’t wait for y’all to hear it tonight at midnight,” Aldean shared on his original teaser post on Facebook, which Underwood commented an emoji of a person raising their hand, further confirming the duet.
While Underwood and Aldean have never recorded music together in the past, both of the country hitmakers have had many of duet partners. This duet will mark their first recorded duet together. However, The two country superstars did perform alongside each other in 2010 at CMA Festival in Nashville, performing Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City.”
Aldean previously worked with Kelly Clarkson on their collaborative track “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” as well as Miranda Lambert (“Drowns The Whiskey”), Kelsea Ballerini (“First Time Again”), Tyler Farr (“Damn Good Friends”), Luke Bryan & Eric Church (“The Only Way I Know”) and more.
Underwood has worked with several superstar country singers for duets, including Keith Urban (“The Fighter”), Brad Paisley (“Remind Me”), Vince Gill (“How Great Thou Art”), Randy Travis (“I Told You So”), Willie Nelson (“Always On My Mind”), Tony Bennett (“It Had To Be You”) and more recently NEEDTOBREATHE (“I Wanna Remember”) in addition to many others.
“If I Didn’t Love You” is set to be released on Friday, July 23. The single will follow Aldean’s 25th No. 1 “Blame It On You.”
