‘90s country music is back with a modern twist as Dalton Dover delivers his high-energy brand-new single, “Night To Go.” The tune, which dropped via UMG Nashville/Mercury Records, arrives just in time for folks looking to add to their mid-summer playlist.

Reminiscent of the sounds of songs like Neal McCoy’s “The Shake” and Tracy Byrd’s “Watermelon Crawl,” Dover’s “Night To Go” is a dance-ready barn burner that captures the spirit of the ‘90s era of country music. The track features copious steel guitars, fast-paced drums, electric guitar riffs, and a driving bass while Dover sings about his ideal Friday night.

“It ain’t parking with your buddies at the same ol’ bar / Drinking all the same ol’ drinks / It ain’t hangin’ at the house all by yourself / Staring at a football game…,” the Georgia native sings the opening lines of the party anthem before sharing that his preference is to spend the evening with the girl that he desires.

Pick her up at seven, she climbs on in / Ride around a little to a country song / Pull into that county line and go / And go and get our cold beer on / Lean in for a kiss underneath the stars / Til the sun shows up, just hold her close / That’s about as good as a good ol’ boy / Would ever want a night to go,” Dover offers the chorus of the radio-ready track, showcasing his powerful blue-collar voice over the catchy melody.

Follows His Single “Giving Up On That”

Dover didn’t write “Night To Go.” Those credits go to tunesmiths Cole Taylor, Trea Landon, Shane Minor, and Michael Carter. But, The Voice alum says he was instantly drawn to the tune when he heard it for the first time.

In a press release, he shared, “When I heard this song for the first time, it took me back to being a kid. This is the kind of music I grew up listening to. I wanted to do something that would make my ‘90s Country heroes proud.”

“Night To Go” arrives as Dover’s current single and major label debut, “Giving Up On That,” continues to climb up the charts. The song debuted as the most-added song on Country radio with 60 first-week ads and garnered over 1 million streams in the first two weeks of its release.

“I Wouldn’t Be Here”

Before his “Night To Go” offering, Dover also delivered a sentimental ode to his mother, with the release of “I Wouldn’t Be Here.”

The song, which dropped on Mother’s Day 2023, puts things into perspective for a son who is forever grateful for all the hard work and selfless acts a mother has done to make sure her boy has what he needs to succeed in life.

“I wrote ‘I Wouldn’t Be Here’ for one of the most important people in my life, my momma,” Dover shared in a statement of the heartfelt ballad he penned alongside Russell Sutton and Dan Isbell, “She’s my best friend, the greatest Mimi to my babies, and the wisest woman I’ve ever met. I’m so grateful that I get to call her mom.”

Additionally, Dalton Dover recently completed a run as a supporting act on Chase Rice’s Way Down Yonder Tour Dalton Dover. He has also enjoyed a few stops over the summer, including performances on four stages at CMA Fest.

Dover continues his time on the road as an opener for Tyler Hubbard, Parker McCollum, and Priscilla Block at select music festivals.
