Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn Jae Brown are a musical match made in heaven!
In a brand-new interview with E! News, the country music singer revealed the married couple will be spending more time in the studio together as they plan on recording and releasing another duet.
“There will definitely be another song with us in the future,” the 29-year-old singer/songwriter assured fans. “We’re gonna write another song and release it. We just want it to be better than this one.”
By this one, Brown is referring to his first duet with his wife, who is an artist herself. The stunning collaboration titled “Thank God” belongs on Brown’s third studio album, Different Man, which dropped in the fall of 2022. The title track featuring Blake Shelton, “Like I Love Country Music,” and “One Mississippi,” are among some other cuts on the full-length project.
Written by Christian Davis, Kyle Fishman, Jaxson Free, Josh Hoge, and Jared Mullins, “Thank God” plays out like a romantic ode to the love shared between Brown and Katelyn. Upon its release, the track found success, reaching the Top 5 spot on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs Chart.
Brown, who has not yet debuted a live performance of the collaboration with Katelyn, opened up about the reason why he believes the ballad earned such a positive response.
He said, “I think, it’s just because it’s a true love story. It’s not two artists who are singing it to each other and have no future with each other. I feel like people can relate to that. Plus, it’s a beautiful song.”
“So, thank God / I get to wake up by your side / And thank God / Your hand fits perfectly in mine / And thank God / You loved me when you didn’t have to / But you did, and you do, and he knew / Thank God for giving me you / Thank God / Thank God for giving me you,” are just some of the tender-hearted lyrics featured throughout the tune.
Brown and Katelyn, initially, met in 2015 but didn’t get to know each other until a year later.
“We met down in Florida at my very first show ever, I believe it was in 2015,” Brown recalled in a previous conversation with Radio.com. “The day before that show, I was supposed to be in her music video because she was an artist as well, and it couldn’t happen because my show was the same day as the music video.”
Brown continued, “So a year goes by, and the same guy we were working with brings her to a show, she didn’t want to come, and he forced her basically. We met, but we didn’t talk at all. I maybe said hey to her, but I thought she was adorable, and I kept looking at her all night. So I asked her to come to Nashville, like, the next day, I flew her down [to Nashville], and we just hit it off, and she never left.”
After dating, the loving pair got engaged in 2017 and tied the knot on Oct. 12 2019, in a ceremony near Nashville. They now share two beautiful daughters, Kingsley Rose, 3, and Kodi Jane, 11 months, together.
Brown, who is touring overseas, recently announced the US leg of his Drunk or Dreaming Tour. The 24-date trek, which features special guests Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett, and LoCash on select dates, begins March 16 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Additionally, Brown was recently added as the fourth and final headliner for the 11th Annual Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, alongside Morgan Wallen, Miranda Lambert, and Hardy. The festival runs from June 1-4 in Panama City Beach, Florida.
