Jake Hoot & his wife Brittney covered an iconic Whitney Houston song and they slayed it.

Recently, the winner of NBC’s The Voice and his wife, who is a Labor and Delivery Nurse as well as a very talented vocalist, shared a cover of Whitney Houston’s iconic hit single “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” wearing robes in their dark, candle lit apartment. The couple put a country spin on the popular track from Houston’s second studio album, Whitney (1987).

“Is bathrobe tunes a NEW thing?!? Can YOU guess the tune?! I love singing with my “Good Lady” (in the words of my guy, Simon over at @ARradiostation)! Can’t she sang??,” Hoot captioned the cover video, before adding the hashtags “#IWannaDanceWithSomebody #WhitneyHouston #Duet #GoodLady #CountryMusic.”

Hoot and Brittney previously shared a cover of Sara Evans’ “Suds In A Bucket” in late March, just weeks after the couple tied in the knot on March 7.

The at-the-time newlyweds performed the Evans’ track in a candlelit room as Hoot played acoustic guitar and his wife belted out the lyrics, showcasing her stunning vocals. The pair then flawlessly harmonized to the track, further proving they are a match made in Heaven.

“Our first song together as ‘The Hoots,’” Hoot captioned the clip. “I love hearing @brittneynicolehoot sing this song, and I HAD to have her sing it for y’all! Here is a cover of @saraevansmusic Suds In The Bucket! Love all y’all!”

Hoot recently told Country Now that his wife will “definitely” appear on his upcoming new album as he admits “she is such a powerhouse.” His wife previously sang backing vocals on his song, “Nadine.”

The Hoots tied the knot during an elegant, rustic farm wedding in early March at the majestic country-styled Saddle Woods Farm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Hoot and Brittney initially met as wedding singers at their best friend’s wedding about eight years ago, where they sang “When God Made You” together during the first dance. The couple got engaged on September 20, 2020 during a trip to Brittney’s hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Hoot surprised his now wife, by getting down on a bended knee in front of her closest family and his mother, Stacey.

Additionally, Hoot recently released his debut EP, Love Out Of Time. The 5-track project also includes an emotion-filled duet called “I Would’ve Loved You” with his coach from his triumphant season of The Voice, Kelly Clarkson. The superstar pair also released a music video for the track, which you can watch HERE.

Hoot’s wife Brittney is a Labor and Delivery Nurse, the founder and director of international missions for Zeal Global at Zeal Church, as well as the Founder and Director of the nonprofit, The Radiant Initiative.
