Carrie Underwood may be one of the biggest country music stars today, but she also has a deep love for the world of rock ‘n’ roll. So much so, the eight-time Grammy-winning artist has shown her appreciation for the headbanging genre while on her Denim & Rhinestones Tour

Fans who have attended Underwood’s shows have gotten to see the 39-year-old mom of two flaunt her wild side while covering Guns N’ Roses’ ‘80s smash, “Welcome to the Jungle,” from their album, Appetite for Destruction.

This video, as shown below, features Underwood slaying the Guns N’ Roses’ hit while dressed in a studded leather jacket featuring the words Guns N’ Roses spread across the back, booty shorts, and cowgirl boots.

Throughout her performance, the vocal powerhouse whips her hair back and forth, stomps her feet, and carries the microphone stand across the stage as fans sing along to the lyrics of the song.

Along with channeling “Welcome to the Jungle” during her headlining run, Underwood previously joined forces with GNR’s Axl Rose in Indio, California, during the Spring of 2022, as part of the Stagecoach country music festival. On stage, the two artists duetted on GNR hits, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City.”

Underwood Is A Huge Fan Of Metal

Guns N’ Roses isn’t the only rock band that Underwood has shown fandom over. She is also a huge fan of I Prevail.

In February, the band attended her Denim & Rhinestones concert at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Excited as ever, Underwood posted photos with the group’s Brian Burkheiser, Eric Vanlerberghe, and Steve Menoian and uploaded those pictures to her social media accounts.

“I was so excited to have the guys from @iprevailband at the show last night in Michigan!!!” Underwood captioned a pair of snapshots on Instagram. ”I tried to play it cool and not fangirl too much! 😬 Super great guys!!! I’m hoping I get to catch one of their shows this year!!! #IPrevail.”

Will Carrie Underwood Release A Rock Album?

Because of Underwood’s fascination and admiration for rock and metal music, it begs the question: would she ever release a rock album?

Underwood was recently asked that question during an interview with Audacy. And the answer might come as a surprise to some folks.

“You never really know with me. I never say never about anything,” Underwood revealed. “I feel like certain influences work their way into different songs and different moments, even if they’re not songs that I record.”

“[Underwood] grew up listening to everything,” she added. “I do have an affinity for rock music and metal, and I just love the energy more than anything.”

Underwood is no stranger to stepping outside of her genre, however. In 2021, she released a Gospel album titled My Savior and later won a Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album.

If Underwood did decide to cut a rock album, she wouldn’t be the first to do so. After getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Dolly Parton revealed she would be releasing a full-length rock album titled Rockstar

When asked if she would make it a goal to be a part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Underwood says, “I mean, I feel like that’s a pretty random high goal to have, but I love – I’ve gotten to honor other people and sing with other people that I’m a super fan of at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction before, and it was such an amazing world to be a part of and, you know, getting to be a fan is enough for me. But, yeah, go Dolly!”

Carrie Underwood Is In The Midst Of Her Denim & Rhinestones Tour

Underwood kicked off the second leg of her The Denim & Rhinestones tour with a show in Florida on Feb. 2.

The 43-city trek, which features Jimmie Allen, makes stops in 25 U.S. cities, including New York’s Madison Square Garden, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena before concluding in Seattle, WA on March 17.

Later this year, she will return to Las Vegas, Nevada, for her REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency at Resorts World Theatre.
