Gwen Stefani and her husband Blake Shelton are spending Thanksgiving in Oklahoma with their family.
During a pre-taped interview, pre-taped ahead of Thanksgiving, with Entertainment Tonight, released on Thursday (Nov. 25), the No Doubt singer revealed how her and Shelton will spend their “first married Thanksgiving” together.
While talking with Entertainment Tonight host Cassie DiLaura, with the stunning Disney Castle in the background, Stefani shared that her and Shelton will be headed to Shelton’s home state of Oklahoma for their annual Thanksgiving Day tradition.
“We leave next week to go to Oklahoma, it’s a tradition, my whole family fly’s out, and we have not been back there since the Wedding,” Stefani explained. “So, I’m really looking forward to it. We have a new house there, we have like a new life there. So, it’s going to be our first married Thanksgiving, very grateful, very excited.”
Stefani then shared who the cook is for their Thanksgiving feast.
“We all cook. My mom definitely likes to do her turkey, her way. Blake likes to experiment with multiple smaller turkeys,” Stefani said.
According to Stefani, each year her, Shelton and their family like to try a new take on their turkey. She explained one year they created a Hot Cheetos turkey and this year it seems they are going to try “doing a bacon wrapped” turkey.
The pop superstar said this year they are adding a new side to their menu that they’ve never made for Thanksgiving in the past.
“All the boys are talking about the different things they are going to do,” Stefani added. “I know one thing, we never did Mac & Cheese, but we’re doing Mac & Cheese [this year]. Yeah, that’s like the new added [side]. Every year, I feel like we add something new in.”
In addition to chatting about Thanksgiving, Stefani also shared their Christmas tradition.
“We do have [one] tradition that we do, we do the Timpano Dome, it’s like this layered pasta Italian dish,” Stefani shared. “Last year we screwed up, guys I’m sorry. It was a mess, so I’m hoping to make something to make up for last year.”
The newlyweds are gearing up to perform at the upcoming third annual Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest, which will take place from Feb. 10-12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
“Honestly, I want to do everything with him, every day,” Stefani said, after being asked how it feels to be able to perform with her husband. “So, anytime we can be together, perform, write songs, hang out, watch TV… whatever it is. I’m all about Blake. To be a part of the Superbowl thing is huge, because he is a major football freak. I think it’s going to be fun to be a part of that because he’s such a fan and I have my three boys, they love football.”
After six years together, country superstar, Shelton, 45, and No Doubt singer, Stefani, 51, exchanged vows during an intimate ceremony in front of their closest family and friends on July 3. The elegant Carson Daly-officiated ceremony took place inside a chapel on Shelton’s ranch, built exclusively for the superstar couple to say their “I Do’s.”
Shelton and Stefani got engaged back in late October 2020 in Shelton’s hometown of Oklahoma. They first met as coaches on NBC’s The Voice in 2014, following both of their public breakups. The superstar couple began dating in November 2015, just a year after working together as coaches on The Voice.
The couple has gone on to release four duets together throughout their relationship thus far, including “Nobody But You,” “Happy Anywhere” and more.
