Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have collaborated on several duets, including “Go Ahead And Break My Heart,” “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” as well as chart-toppers like “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere.” Additionally, the power couple also released a cover of The Judds’ “Love Is Alive” and recently released a new duet titled “Purple Irises.”
Shelton and the No Doubt singer released their first duet, “Go Ahead And Break My Heart,” together in 2016. The couple shared their latest duet, “Purple Irises,” on February 14, 2024.
Will The Couple Ever Release A Duets’ Album?
The married couple have teased the idea of potentially releasing a full album of duets in the future. During a July 2020 interview with Bobby Bones on The Bobby Bones Show, Bones asked Shelton about the possibility of a duets’ album with Stefani, and well Shelton’s reply gave fans some hope for it in the future, just not right now.
When asked, Shelton said “I don’t think so,” but then followed that up with “Maybe at the end of 10 or 20 years here, we’ll have enough duets together that we can put ’em all together as a hits package. I don’t know.”
In December of 2022, the couple were asked if they would ever release a duets’ album together during a recent red-carpet event for The Voice’s live shows, and Shelton said “hell yes.” Upon hearing her husband’s answer, Stefani began to smile and clap, responding, “I was waiting to hear what he was going to say.”
“Yes, we’re going to [release a duets’ album],” Shelton reiterated, adding, “any day now, it’s coming out.”
The lovebirds have sang other duets together that weren’t their own, covering other artists songs on NBC’s The Voice. The pair have also shared the stage for live duets that include performances of No Doubt classics like “It’s My Life” and “Don’t Speak.”
Gwen Stefani hopes to one day team up with her husband, Blake Shelton, to reimagine Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s iconic duet, “Islands in the Stream,” according to TODAY. “That song would be my dream, if me and Blake could do that song together one day,” Stefani admitted at the time.
How Did Blake And Gwen Meet?
The beloved couple tied the knot after six years together during an intimate ceremony in front of their closest family and friends on July 3, 2021. The elegant Carson Daly-officiated ceremony took place inside a chapel on Shelton’s ranch, built exclusively for the superstar couple to say their “I Do’s.”
Shelton and Stefani got engaged in late October of 2020 in Shelton’s hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. They first met as coaches on NBC’s The Voice in 2014, following both of their public breakups. The superstar couple began dating in November 2015, just a year after working together as coaches on The Voice.

“Go Ahead And Break My Heart” is the first duet that Blake and Gwen ever released together. The song, co-written by Shelton and Stefani, was released in May of 2016 on Shelton’s tenth studio album, If I’m Honest.
“We were just writing it about … it was hard to kind of let our guards down again, you know what I mean?” Shelton previously explained of the tune during an appearance on The TODAY Show. “Just going through some issues, and so that’s what the song was even written about. It’s like, I know something bad is going to happen, because it always does, so let’s just get it over with now.”
“You Make It Feel Like Christmas”

The couple also released a holiday duet, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” a track the pair co-wrote together alongside Justin Tranter and the late Busbee that appears on Stefani’s first full-length holiday album of the same name and was released in 2017.
In addition to dropping the song, the country superstar and pop phenomenon also shared a music video for the track that was captured in 2018. The “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” music video was inspired by I Love Lucy and comes in the form of a mini-movie that documents the couple’s holiday festivities.
The clip, which you can watch below, was directed by Stefani’s longtime collaborator, Sophie Muller, who has directed the music videos for “Don’t Speak,” “Cool,” “Spark The Fire” and more.

“Nobody But You” is a country and pop power ballad duet. Shelton described the song as genuine and drew parallels between the lyrics and his relationship with Stefani.
Co-written by Shane McAnally, Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne and Tommy Lee James, “Nobody But You” appears on Shelton’s fifth compilation album, Fully Loaded: God’s Country, which was released in 2019. The track earned Stefani her first-ever No. 1 single at Country Radio and Shelton’s 27th.
The “Nobody But You” music video provides an intimate look at the high-profile romance between the two superstars, featuring sweet home videos, moments of the couple sharing a basket of french fries in a diner, and scenes of them cuddling on a couch with Shelton’s dog, Betty. The clip beautifully showcases the couple’s endless love for each other.
“Happy Anywhere”

“Happy Anywhere” finds the couple putting their fairy tale love story a full display while admitting that they can find happiness anywhere together.
“You know, ‘Happy Anywhere’ has got to be one of the most fun songs that I’ve ever had a chance to record, and the actual recording process was a blast. Listening to it afterward was a blast,” Shelton previously shared. “I had a moment where Gwen told me, ‘You know, there’s something about this song that just makes you smile.’ And it doesn’t hurt that it has Happy in the title.”
The duet went on to become Blake and Gwen’s second No. 1 hit together at Country radio, following their previous chart-topper, “Nobody But You.” The song also marked Shelton’s 28th No. 1 hit and Stefani’s second No. 1 at Country radio. The tune appears on Shelton’s twelfth studio album, Body Language.
Blake and Gwen released a heartwarming music video for the tune. Directed by Todd Stefani, the feel-good compilation features footage of the pair captured by Shelton and Stefani themselves as they spend time in their homes in Oklahoma and California.

Blake and Gwen joined forces to honor Country Music Hall of Fame group, The Judds, with a new rendition of the duo’s iconic ballad, “Love Is Alive.” Their version of the track appears on the album, A Tribute To The Judds, which arrived on October 27, 2023.
“I have always admired The Judds, and I am so thrilled to be part of this album,” Stefani previously shared in a press release. “‘Love Is Alive’ is an iconic track, and performing the song with Blake is a perfect way to honor their timeless discography.” While Shelton added, “The Judds are one of the greatest country acts of our lifetime. 80’s country music is my favorite decade, and I’ve been singing Judd songs for as long as I can remember. ‘Love Is Alive’ was on their first album, and we wanted to stick pretty close to the original version, and Gwen just nails the vocals. We’re thrilled to be part of this tribute album.”
“Love Is Alive” was written solely by Kent Robbins and was released in May of 1985 as the third single from The Judds’ album, Why Not Me. The song went on to become The Judds’ fourth No.1 hit.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani released their latest duet, “Purple Irises.”
“’Purple Irises’ is a song that comes from the idea that when you plant something, you are planting hope and watching love grow,” Stefani said in a press release. “Weathering all the different seasons of growth. We are in this together, we planted the seeds together, and we are growing together.”
“We love this song so much,” Shelton continued. “It’s a song Gwen wrote with a couple of friends of hers, and I fell in love with it the first time I heard it. She knew there was something different about it and asked me to come in and sing with her. My longtime producer, Scott Hendricks, produced it, and Gwen’s been wanting to work with him for a long time now.”
Produced by Shelton’s frequent collaborator Scott Hendricks, “Purple Irises,” co-penned by Stefani in collaboration with Jakob Hazell, Niko Rubio, and Svante Halldin, is expected to be featured on Stefani’s forthcoming album. Recorded in Nashville’s Smoakstack Studios, the song officially impacted Country radio on February 22, 2024.
