Gabby Barrett is due to welcome her first child, a daughter, sometime this month.
In a late 2020 livestream Q&A with a Country music radio station, Barrett teased fans about her baby’s name and talked about how she enjoys being able to shop and plan ahead for the baby rather than waiting till birth to be surprised.
Barrett revealed that she was anxious to know the gender of her baby as she says she “don’t know how people” wait till birth to find out the gender of the child. When being asked if she was dying to know the baby’s gender she replied “yes, 100%.”
“I don’t how people do it, how they are like I’m just gonna wait till birth and be surprised because I’m somebody who wants to start shopping,” Barrett explained. “I want to know what it is so I can plan ahead and do all of that, so I was very excited when they told me it was a girl cause I was like I knew it! I would have dreams about girls, if I had a dream about the baby it would be a girl and so I was like ok.”
When it came to discussing the baby’s name, she says she preferred to keep it private, however she did tease some details on the possibilities and let fans know that they have names in mind but they haven’t decided on which one yet.
“We haven’t settled 100% on a name, but we’re going back and forth between like two names. And we don’t have middle names started yet exactly but it could potentially be Biblical, yes, maybe,” Barrett said.
“It’s one of those things where you gotta wait till the child to comes out and say that looks like a, fill in the blank,” the Country radio station asked.
“Haha, that’s what people say, yes, like okay you look like a this or that,” Barrett said as she laughed. “Some people have their kids and still don’t know what to name them and so we’ll see what comes out of it.”
The “I Hope” singer and her husband Cade Foehner are expecting to welcome their first child any day now. The couple is preparing in the meantime learning to change diapers and even getting some advice from Carrie Underwood on Barrett’s “long list of questions” about motherhood.
