Gabby Barrett

Gabby Barrett is using her platform to speak out in support of the recently released faith-based film, Sound of Freedom

The religious thriller recently made waves at the box office and raked in an impressive $40 million just six days after its release, according to Variety

Speaks Out On Issue That “Deeply, Deeply, Deeply Affects Me”

Barrett, who is a mother of two and a devoted Christian, took to Instagram stories on Tuesday (July 11) to share her thoughts on the film in an emotionally charged video message.

“I did want to hop on here and just talk about this because it’s something that deeply, deeply, deeply affects me. I don’t come on here and talk about a lot of things. Some stuff I just keep within my family and my circle and within my prayers to the Lord and trust him with them, but something that has deeply affected me that’s come out,” the Pennsylvania native began.

Urged Her Followers To See Sound Of Freedom

She admitted that she hasn’t had the chance to watch the movie just yet, but went on to urge her followers to support it.

“I haven’t even seen it yet, but it’s called Sound Of Freedom. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. It is a movie surrounding the sex trafficking of children and this is something that really hits home for me, especially having children of my own,” she said.

Though she admitted that she isn’t sure if her emotions can withstand watching the film, Barrett hopes that her followers will have the chance to see the movie while it’s in theaters.

“I have not even seen this movie yet but I know what it’s about. I don’t know personally if I’m able to watch the movie. I’m just a deeply, emotionally moved person when it comes to very deep issues. Two things that really affect me is sex trafficking with children, especially under the age of five, and childhood cancer,” she explained. ‘Those two things really… they are deeply, deeply, deeply hurt and you can tell that these things were not supposed to be something that’s just common and just happens every day.”

An Advocate For Child Sex Trafficking

The platinum-selling singer said that she was inspired to voice her opinion on the movie and the issue of child sex trafficking following a conversation with her husband, Cade Foehner.

“We just talk about this is something that we definitely need to advocate for. This movie is to educate people on the real issue that we have going on today,” she added.

Barrett closed her message by saying, “If you’re a parent, please go see and advocate for this movie. If you’re not a parent, please go see and advocate for this movie. Again, it’s just something that touches me and I had to come on this platform and make people aware of this movie and that this is really happening. And to watch your children… There’s so many surveillance videos of children being just taken from their parents and thrown into the trafficking circle and it’s just awful. Pray big prayers that God will bring his justice down on the wicked and that we would protect our children. We have to protect the children. Please. That’s all I have to say, Sound Of Freedom, go watch it, check it out, promote it. Make yourself aware on this topic because it is crucial.”

Sound Of Freedom is a movie “based on the incredible true story that brings attention to the urgent matter of child trafficking through the heroic actions of former federal agent Tim Ballard,” according to a press release.  The film stars Jim Caviezel, Academy Award Winner Mira Sorvino, Bill Camp, José Zúñiga, Eduardo Verástegui, who is also a producer, and written and directed by Alejandro Monteverde.

Sound Of Freedom arrived on July 4 and is available to watch in theaters now.

Gabby Barrett’s “Glory Days” Music Video

The news comes just days after Gabby Barrett released the music video for her latest single, “Glory Days.”

The award-winning country star enlisted her husband, Cade Foehner, and two children, Baylah May, 2, and Augustine Boone, 8 months, to co-star in the clip. Directed by Alexa Campbell and co-produced by Barrett and Taylor Vermillion, the music video showcases a beautiful blend of nostalgia and celebration, capturing the feeling of treasured memories and the joy of embracing the present.

With her family by her side, Gabby Barrett creates a visual representation of the song’s message, reminding fans of the importance of cherishing the moments that shape our lives.

Throughout the clip, Barrett enjoys memorable moments with her family on a picturesque farm.

“Glory Days” Mirrors Barrett’s Real Life

Out now, the anthemic song mirrors Barrett’s real life as she sings about the things that make her life so full, like her family and her faith. Throughout the lyrics, she promises to live life in the moment and never take things for granted because she recognizes that she’s living out the “Glory Days” right now.

“This is as good as it gets, I don’t know what I would change / I love this life that we live, I love that smile on your face / No, we ain’t gotta look back at all those pictures in frames / And wish it’d all stay the same / ‘Cause right here, right now I say, ‘These are the glory days,’” the American Idol alum sings on the chorus.

Barrett co-wrote “Glory Days” with Emily Weisband, Seth Mosley, and James McNair, and co-produced the track with Ross Copperman.

Forthcoming New Album

“Glory Days” is the first track from Gabby Barrett’s forthcoming, yet-to-be-announced sophomore album, which she is co-producing alongside Ross Copperman.

While Barrett has yet to announce a release date for the project, she did reveal that it is “almost finished” and that it is expected to debut later this year in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“Hopefully, like, early fall is the goal,” Barrett told the outlet.

The project will also feature songs co-written by Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert.

Additionally, the Pennsylvania native’s forthcoming album will follow her record-breaking debut album, Goldmine, which spawned chart-topping hits such as “The Good Ones” and her debut single “I Hope.” Barrett released a deluxe edition of Goldmine, which featured four new songs, including “Pick Me Up,” “Never Get It Back,” “The Good Ones (Wedding Version),” and a cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” in addition to the 13 original tracks.

Barrett is set to return to the stage on July 14 at the Jay County Fairgrounds in Portland, Indiana.
