Gabby Barrett shared her holiday traditions and said that this will be a “very special” Christmas for her and her husband Cade Foehner, as it is their last one together without a baby, as the couple are expecting their baby girl’s arrival in January 2021.
In a recent virtual media press conference, Barrett said that this year they are keeping things basic and are not planning anything crazy for the holidays, as she said “This is our last one together without a baby, so it will be very special for us.”
“Nothing crazy, just probably the regular, baking cookies,” Barrett said of their holiday plans. “I look forward to the very small things. He likes when I make dessert a lot, so we’ll see what happens with that.”
When being asked about her holiday traditions, the “I Hope” singer shared that she hopes to pass down the tradition that her and her father share to her daughter.
“A tradition that I did when I was younger a lot with my family was my dad would always pick us up off the floor and put the tree topper on,” Barrett explained. “I think that’s a tradition we’ll kind of pass down to her as well. I think it’s really fun. There’s something very special about putting memories and fun ornaments on the tree, but the tree topper is like the cherry on top, so I think we’ll end up lifting her as well and letting her put on the tree topper for our family.”
Barrett and Foehner are expecting a new bundle joy in the form of a baby girl early next year in January 2021. The couple first announced their pregnancy mid-August and first found out they were expecting in May 2020.
“We are very excited,” Barrett tells PEOPLE. “The Lord has blessed us with a little one, and we’re really excited to finally be able to share the news with everybody and just have a big old family celebration about it.”
