Falling In Reverse hit the road in celebration of their debut album, The Drug In Me Is You, getting certified GOLD by the RIAA, with special guests Escape The Fate and The Word Alive. Adding a last minute addition to ‘The Drug In Me Is Gold’ tour with a show in Sayreville, NJ at Starland Ballroom. This sold out show added to their completely sold out tour and fans were grateful that they did as the show was a constant flow of crowd surfers, high-energy and one big roaring sing-a-long.

The Word Alive launched the evening into high gear right away, with Dark Matter track “Trapped,” the first song from their unfortunately brief 6-song set. However, the band used that 30-minute time slot to showcase their band is here to stay with energetic songs including “BURNING YOUR WORLD DOWN” and “monomania” a two-song introduction to their new album, monomania, which comes out tomorrow (Feb. 21) via Fearless Records.

Escape The Fate exploded onto the stage to the lively chants of “choose your fate” from the sold out crowd as they opened with their anthemic single “Gorgeous Nightmare,” setting the tone for the rest of their fiery 11-song performance. Powering through fan-favorite songs like “Ashley,” “Live Fast, Die Beautiful,” “10 Miles Wide” and of course “This War Is Ours (The Guillotine II)” but also including songs like “Do You Love Me?” and “Broken Heart” from their latest album, I Am Human. Ending their set with “One For The Money” which the crowd erupted into one big mosh pit for.

Falling In Reverse kicked off their set with “The Westerner,” the last track on their debut album, The Drug In Me Is You, which the band performed in reverse during their 14-song set before giving fans an encore of their new singles “Popular Monster,” “Drugs” and closing it out with 2015 fan-favorite track “Just Like You.” Their setlist was impressive, their complete debut album with their new singles and a fan-favorite track, but we are however slightly disappointed that the band didn’t perform their newly reimagined version of their debut album’s title track “The Drug In Me Is You” which we adore the new rendition of the song, which really showcases frontman Ronnie Radke’s vocal abilities.

The amount of energy during Falling In Reverse’s set was incomparable to any other show that I have ever been to, the crowd surfers didn’t stop all night long and even Radke commented saying “you guys are insane, I can’t believe this” multiple times throughout the evening. It was a very animated crowd who really showcased their love to the bands breakout debut album, The Drug In Me Is You, however we must note that the crowd roared the lyrics to their encore songs which were their new singles “Popular Monster” and “Drugs” louder than any other songs performed that night.

A highlight of Falling In Reverse’s would definitely include when Escape The Fate frontman Craig Mabbitt surprised fans onstage during the ‘f-ck Craig verse’ of “Tragic Magic” to sing the verse that Radke wrote dissing Mabbitt, making a joke of the situation which fans adored before Mabbitt jumped in the crowd to crowd surf. See video of their performance together HERE. We must also mention that both Mabbitt and Radke showcase their maturity and talent throughout the evening with their impressive vocals and energy-filled stage presence.

Overall, the show was excellent, an impressive performance from all of the bands but we were just slightly upset that we didn’t hear any of Radke’s era Escape The Fate tunes like “Situations” and “Not Good Enough For Truth in Cliche’,” from their Dying Is Your Latest Fashion album, which we would’ve love to hear live with both Mabbitt and Radke singing on the tracks similar to what they did on the Bury The Hatchet Tour in 2014.
