In a recent 11-question interview with Opry member and Grammy award-winning artist, Darius Rucker, he not only revealed that he’s been hard at work writing new music during quarantine but also that he has a new single coming out this Summer with Lady A.

“I have a new single coming out this summer with Lady A. I’m really excited and can’t wait for people to hear it. It’s a lot of fun,” Rucker explained to the Opry.

Rucker also was asked about the music he is listening to right now, his reply was shocking, telling the Opry that he has been listening to a lot of “old stuff but also Post Malone” and continuing to say that he’s “big into Ed Sheeran right now.” He also said he really enjoys a song that has been dominating Country Radio which is Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope,” a track off of her debut album, Goldmine.

“Oh and the new one that’s out, I hope she cheats, every time I hear that on the radio I think it’s so good. “I Hope,” by Gabby Barrett.” Rucker gushed.

He made his Opry debut on July 2008 and was inducted into the Opry on October 16, 2012. Rucker is coming up on his eighth anniversary as an Opry member and he says that when he was asked to be a member of the Opry: “it was a huge honor and a validation for me. It was saying that I was definitely part of the family — and now  it’s a home away from home for me.”
