Just in time for Father’s Day, Jake Hoot has released a new song titled “Best Job I Ever Had,” a song that he is dedicating to his 5-year-old daughter Macy.
“Without a doubt, being a dad is the greatest accomplishment I’ve ever had, so writing this song was easy because it resonated so close to home,” Hoot explained about the song.
The music video for “Best Job I Ever Had,” was directed by Alejandro Medina of 3rd Lion Productions, and features snapshots of Hoot and his daughter Macy as well as photos of fans with their fathers, kicking off the video with a cute clip of him with a daughter interacting.
“It was such a special day because my daughter Macy was able to be with me during filming. I was also so thankful because last minute we had 3 families offer for us to use their nurseries which was fun getting to involve other families in this project.” Hoot said about the music video. “I hope people walk away with the message that getting the opportunity to be a dad is one of God’s greatest gifts to us. No matter how hard it may be at times, there really is nothing more special than having the opportunity to raise a child.”
“Best Job I Ever Had” was co-written by Hoot alongside Connor Rand, produced by Dave Pahanish and Charles Pevahouse Jr.
Best job I ever had / I just to be your dad / And giving everything I have to you / When I looked into your eyes / Suddenly I realized / I knew what I was meant to do / That’s the truth,” he sings in the chorus.
