When it comes to entering a new calendar year, people all over begin to put thought into their resolutions. And, while many end up forgoing them overtime, Chris Young has managed to keep his going.

The country music star has revealed he dedicated 2023 to losing weight and getting into shape. And, already, he says that he has lost a whopping 60 pounds!

Young shared the jaw-dropping news on Instagram on Tuesday (Aug. 15). And while it’s clear to see that his weight loss is dramatic, he announced that he plans on continuing his journey of shedding even more pounds.

60 Pound Weight Loss

“This year has been dedicated to a lot of work on myself,” Young captioned the post. “Music wise AND in the gym. Still not done, but down 60 pounds, so yeah… Gonna leave this here #cheers #fitnessmotivation.”

Sharing motivation for others, Young included a photo that gives his more than 1.5 million followers a visual of what his drop in weight has done to his appearance. He looks down at his cell phone while posing in front of the mirror with his shirt half off, exposing his toned arm muscles.

While there was no shortage of praise given to Young from the fans, some of the 38-year-old “Young Love & Saturday Nights” singer’s country cohorts also got on board to champion him with words of affirmation.

“Good job man! 🙌,” fellow country star Chuck Wicks applauded in the comments section below the post.

Michael Ray added, “Keep kicking a– bro! Proud of ya, man.”

Frequently Shares Photos From His Weight Loss Journey

The country star’s weight loss and healthy living has been very apparent in his latest social media posts, however, he has never public discussed it. Young also frequently shares photos from the gym with friends as well as on his own.

Previously Opened Up About His Weight Loss

Young opened up about his intentions to transform his appearance earlier this year. At the time, he had already lost a chunk of the weight and shared some of his secrets for keeping it off.

In an interview with People, he said, “I’ve been cooking my own food a lot more. I wasn’t taking the time to [cook for myself]. I’m also working out a little bit more.”

“Young Love & Saturday Nights”

As for the music side of his New Year’s resolution, Young has kept busy putting out new music. He recently dropped a track called “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” which finds him incorporating the familiar guitar riff from David Bowie’s “Rebel Rebel” hit.

The track, co-produced by Young with Corey Crowder and Chris DeStefano and written by hit Nashville songwriters Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure, and Josh Thompson, as well as Bowie, who receives a credit for his famous guitar lick, is a summer anthem that depicts the story of young love coming to fruition at a small town “hole in the wall” bar.

Here’s to good girls that can’t keep from falling / For bad boys that their daddies don’t like / Small towns that keep staying small / Here’s to old trucks, young love, and Saturday nights,” Young sings throughout the chorus of the song.

“Looking For You” Is Top 10 At Country Radio

In addition to that Young’s song, “Looking For You,” which he released ahead of “Young Love & Saturday Nights” and co-wrote with Emily Weisband and James McNair, is currently in the Top 10 at country radio.

Young currently has a handful of show dates stacked on his calendar. For a complete listing of concert updates from Chris Young, visit his official website HERE.
