Lyrically, the tune is highly relatable as Davis sings about an ex who, to others, has seemingly moved on with someone else. But she calls his bluff knowing full well that he’s putting on a show. Pulling from the book of Shania Twain’s “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” in which she sings, “Okay, so you’re Brad Pitt?” Davis uses a different actor, asking the man in her song, “Who do you think you even are though? Leonardo?”

DiCaprio, yeah. No, the Oscar does not go to you tonight, that’s right / I’m calling your bluff like you were calling me last night / Don’t even act like you can act like DiCaprio,” Davis sings throughout the uptempo chorus. “I know / You wish you were Jack so I would be Rose / Tryna hide your cards like your handsome heart ain’t broke / Putting on a show / Baby you ain’t no DiCaprio. Oh no, no no / DiCaprio, oh oh, oh oh.”

In the accompanying clip, Davis flawlessly brings the song’s story to life.

Set in a party atmosphere, she catches her old flame, bringing another girl to the party. He uses his charm on other women yet tries to pursue Davis in select scenes but ends up losing to his own game.

Jenna Davis, who throws in a bit of skillful group choreography on the chorus, gets her revenge. She shows the man she’s not to be messed with by pushing him into the outdoor pool. The choreographed dance is destined to quickly become a viral dance craze on social media.

Davis caught up with Music Mayhem, where she talked about the concept for the music video and also shared how the tune fell into her hands and why she recorded it.

For the video, Davis shares, “My mom and I have always created the concepts for my music videos. I’m a very visual person, and love to tell stories with my music videos…. It’s very similar to a mini movie, and there are lots of people, water, and dancing! I truly couldn’t have done it without the Working Holiday Team and, of course, my SMACK Family!!”

As for the track, Davis explains that she connected with the song upon listening to it for the first time.

“My manager played the demo of ‘DiCaprio’ for me back in April. As soon as the demo ended, I turned to my mom and said, ‘This is the next cut.’ I fell in love with the up-tempo beat and clever lyrics, leading my mind to almost instantly envision the creative direction I wanted to take.”

Signed With SMACKRecords

Davis’ new track comes after she announced her new partnership with SMACKRecords, a record label branch of SMACK, which is also home to publishing house SMACKSongs and SMACKManagement. In addition to being SMACKRecords’ flagship artist, Davis will also be represented by SMACKManagement.

“Cultivating and developing creatives is what we pride ourselves on here at SMACK, so extending that to developing artists through SMACKRecords is an endeavor that we’re really excited to launch with Jenna,” SMACK President Robert Carlton shared in a press release. “She’s blown us all away with her talent and work ethic.”

Before signing onto her new endeavor with SMACK, she was garnering over 9 million social media followers independently. Fans may also recognize her voice as she recently voiced the titular character in the hit horror-thriller M3GAN.

Folks can be sure to find new music from Davis soon as she promises more on the way.

“Yes!! This will be the first single of my forthcoming EP. with SMACKRECORDS!!” She shares. “I’m super excited and currently writing in Nashville for the project.”
