Carly Pearce brings Chris Stapleton along with her as she enters the next phase of her musical career. The 33-year-old Kentucky-born star and the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, 45, have joined forces for a powerful new duet called “We Don’t Fight Anymore.”

Out now via Big Machine Records, and set to impact Country radio on Tuesday (June 20), “We Don’t Fight Anymore” finds Pearce and Stapleton capturing a couple’s difficulties of staying together when it seems a relationship is inevitably falling apart due to an overwhelming feeling of distance between the two.

Neither party wants to bend for the other, with Pearce telling her other half, “I couldn’t make you jealous if I tried,” and realizing that he “Couldn’t care less if I stayed out all night” in the opening lyrics. By the time the chorus arrives, Pearce and Stapleton are admitting the romance has diminished so much that the pair no longer have the energy to fight for each other.

“We don’t yell ’cause what the hell difference would it make? / We don’t cuss and we don’t care enough to even hate / We could tear up the house, we could burn the whole thing down / But boy what for? ‘Cause we don’t even fight anymore,” the two sing together in mesmerizing harmony.

Sonically, the tune delivers a slow ballad feel while showcasing a range of bluegrass instruments, complimenting both Pearce and Stapleton’s respective musical sounds. Between their powerhouse vocals and the storyteller songwriting, the two’s collaboration is bound to take country radio by storm.

Opening up about the track in a press release, Pearce shares: “This song embodies a place that I think, if we are honest with ourselves, we’ve all felt at some point in a relationship. The distance that feels heartbreaking, yet you’re also indifferent.”

“I’ve always been a writer who never wanted to shy away from the ‘uncomfortable’ moments in all of our lives, and this song feels too important not to share,” she continued. “Having Chris Stapleton join me on this song was a dream come true, and he unlocked an element to the story that I didn’t even know it needed.”

“We Don’t Fight Anymore” Follows Her Third Album, 29: Written In Stone

Carly Pearce co-wrote “We Don’t Fight Anymore” alongside frequent collaborators Shane McAnally and Pete Good. The song is the first taste of new music following her incredibly personal, critically-acclaimed third studio album, 29: Written In Stone.

Pearce’s previous album serves as the closing of a chapter in her life following her highly-public divorce from fellow country artist Michael Ray in 2020. Some of the highlights on 29: Written In Stone include collaborations with Patty Loveless on “Dear Miss Loretta” and Ashley McBryde on “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.” The project also includes hit singles “Next Girl” and “What He Didn’t Do.”

29: Written In Stone was produced by McAnally and Josh Osborne, but “We Don’t Fight Anymore” marks Pearce’s debut as a co-producer alongside the two.

Additionally, Carly Pearce recently completed a run on Blake Shelton’s Back To The Honky Tonk Tour and has several shows lined up throughout the summer. Next stops include Cohasset, MA, at South Shore Music Circus on June 24 and Hyannis, MA, at Cape Cod Melody Tent on June 25.
