Jelly Roll‘s wife, Bunnie XO, won’t be joining her husband on tour for the next week or so as she is taking time off the road to be with her father, Bill, who is battling Stage 4 cancer.

“Family Emergency”

Bunnie had originally used her Instagram Story to respond to a fan who was wondering why she hadn’t been at a recent show, writing that she was dealing with a “family emergency.”

“I’ll be off tour the next 10 days,” she wrote, adding that she won’t be back on the road until Jelly Roll‘s September 19 show in Oklahoma City. Bunnie shared, “I have a family emergency that I’ll talk about tomorrow.”

Reveals Her Dad Has Been Secretively Battling Stage 4 Cancer

In a post on Sunday, Bunnie XO revealed her father’s illness with fans in text placed over a video of herself packing for the airport and taking a flight.

“I received one of the worst calls yesterday that shook me to my core,” she wrote, sharing the sad news with her followers. “My dad has been silently battling Stage 4 cancer for the past year alone w/just his wife.”

“He insisted no one kno so he could try to heal it himself because he’s into holistic remedies,” she continued. “Sadly the cancer has now spread into his bone marrow & his bones are breaking, he can’t lift his arms, walk, barely eat & he’s in so much pain you can’t even hug him.”

“My dad is the coolest dude I’ve ever known. We clash because I’m just like him, but there’s nothing in the world I wouldn’t do for my pops,” her message read as video showed Bunnie XO visiting with her dad. “Hearing this & seeing him like this is shattering my soul.”

“I don’t kno what the next few weeks hold for us, but all I kno is I just want to wrap him up in love & make this process for him as comfortable as possible,” she concluded.

Previously Opened Up About Her Relationship With Her Dad

Bunnie XO opened up about her relationship with her father when he joined her on her Dumb Blonde Podcast earlier this year.

“The coolest story that I could ever tell people is that I was raised by a single dad,” she said, telling Bill, “I think I always tried to make you happy as a kid because I always wanted to be your comedic relief. That was the relationship you and I always had, I just would say the f—ing weirdest s— to make you laugh.”

Bill told his daughter that he was “very proud that in the last six or seven years you’ve gone in the totally best direction in your life. Because you’ve gone astray in different times and then probably came back a little bit, who knows? But I think the last six or seven years, right about that, you’ve been growing in your own.”

Bunnie also praised her dad in a birthday post back in 2019, sharing a photo of the two of them together. “You guys! The one cool thing about September is my pops was born,” her caption read. “I need everyone to tell the Birthday Bill HAPPY BIRFDAY! I love you Daddyo! You will always be my first love, my fave rockstar & the funniest dude I kno. Love you so much Bill! Don’t party too hard today- I kno you’re only 45 but don’t push it.”
