Jelly Roll delivers the ultimate “Thank You” message to his beautiful wife Bunnie XO with his brand-new single, “Kill A Man.” The infectious love song is out today (Friday, June 2) via BMG/Stoney Creek Records — the same day as his debut album release.
“Kill A Man” finds Jelly Roll reflecting on the day that he met his wife, Bunnie XO. For those who don’t know the story behind their romance, it begins with two lovebirds first crossing paths in 2015 in Las Vegas, Nev., during a show at Sin City’s Country Saloon, which is on the city’s iconic Fremont Street strip.
Jelly Roll was on the bill and Bunnie XO was in attendance. And sparks flew instantaneously.
“We hit it off,” Jelly Roll told Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul. “She said she fell in love with the saddest eyes in the room.”
He Knew Bunnie Xo Was The One From The Moment They Met
Fast-forward to today, and Jelly Roll hasn’t forgotten the day he first locked eyes with the one who he was going to marry. In his newest track, he recalls the moment he met his wife and croons the memory of meeting her over a stunning waltz melody.
“I thought that night in Vegas / the drink I was drinkin’ would finally take me / I thought I wouldn’t make it / that my demons would find me with blue lights behind me / thought my time was up more than a time or two / the enemy begins with you,” Jelly Roll sings the opening lyrics of the song before heading into a harmony filled chorus. “Something ’bout you has always been dangerous / I should run, but here I stand / you’re the one thing Heaven can’t save me from / and I’m far past my last chance / I was bulletproof / but baby loving you could kill a man.”

“I Don’t Write A Lot Of Love Songs”
Jelly Roll teased “Kill A Man” on TikTok earlier this year, giving his more than 4.2 million followers a snippet of the song that honors his bride, who is the host of the successful Dumb Blonde Podcast. The two will mark their seventh wedding anniversary on Aug. 31.
“I don’t write a lot of love songs…” Jelly Roll captioned alongside an audio work tape of the heartfelt song, which showcases the rapper-turned-country artist showing his vulnerable side and admitting that his love for Bunnie XO could literally “Kill A Man.”
New Album, WHITSITT CHAPEL
As previously shared, “Kill A Man” belongs on Jelly Roll’s brand-new album, WHITSITT CHAPEL, which dropped today and is named after the church he grew up in. Aside from “Kill A Man,” the 13-track offering also includes recent releases “SHE,” “NEED A FAVOR,” and “Save Me,” which features vocals by Lainey Wilson. Other highlights on the album include a collaboration with Brantley Gilbert and Struggle Jennings on “Behind Bars” and a Yelawolf feature on “Unlive.”
“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life,” Jelly Roll previously shared of the project. “I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. Therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems.”
In celebration of his debut country album, Jelly Roll will take the road for his highly anticipated 44-city Backroad Baptism Tour, which begins on Friday (July 28) at Bank Plus Amphitheater in Southaven, Mississippi. In addition, the Tennessee native recently premiered his documentary, Jelly Roll: Save Me, which is available for streaming on Hulu.
