Bebe Rexha, one of this year’s most iconic presenters and nominees, stepped onto the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards pink carpet in style, despite having some reservations prior to the show — with a look that left our jaws dropped, we are so glad that she decided to make an appearance.
Rexha arrived at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey in a stunning all-black, all-leather ensemble (with some sexy cutouts that exposed her backside), despite sharing with her fans that she may be boycotting the VMAs pink carpet.

Almost Didn’t Attend Due To Anxiety
Just 24 hours prior to the legendary award show, the talented singer-songwriter opened up about some anxiety she had been experiencing surrounding her appearance in a TikTok video.
“The VMAs are tomorrow and I am anxious AF,” Rexha dished to her 8.5 million TikTok followers. “I want to start off by saying that I am very grateful and blessed to be able to be invited to these award shows, to be able to do what I love, and I know that the criticism comes with the territory, so I’m all good with that [and] I mean, sometimes it does get to me… am human, but I wanted just to talk about this, because I meet a lot of people and a lot of times they’ll be like, ‘Oh my god, I love how you’re all about body positivity and confidence’ and let me tell you, right now, I’m not feeling so confident.”
“I Am So Anxious And Stressed”
Rexha continued, “I am so anxious and stressed about going on the red carpet and I guess people talking about my weight, because I’m not really loving myself right now. I’m not really feeling like the bad b***h that I usually am, and I guess everybody has these days and nobody ever feels perfect, and that’s why I wanted to make this,” she continued, vulnerably.
“I don’t know if I’m going to go tomorrow. I do have an outfit. It is cute… I do want to wear my dress and I do really want to go, to celebrate my nomination and my friend’s nominations, but I do feel like anxiety gets the best of me and that’s why I wanted to make this video, because I’m sure a lot of you guys feel the same way too or have felt this way. If you have any motivational tips or tricks, please share them with me. I genuinely want to know, and maybe you’ll see me on the red carpet tomorrow,” the pop princess concluded.
Fans Praised Her Stunning Look
In her comment section, fans expressed their support for Bebe Rexha, despite her feeling down on herself:
“You got this. Just imagine the 80 year old version of yourself being so proud looking back at you enjoying life and overcoming what your younger self,” @livingastasha wrote.
“I struggle with anxiety too Bebe. You’re such an inspiration and loved by many. You’ve got this, Bebe. You are you and will slay no matter the way,” @averygaybutterfly wrote.
“you slay no matter what and don’t forget it,” @grandma_droniak wrote.

“I hope you do go, however, if you don’t and your anxiety takes over, it is okay. We can’t win every single battle. Love you,” @beautybyarturo_ wrote.
“also a reminder, your future self may be very happy that you did indeed go! our brains are 10x harder on ourselves, others see you in an angel-like way,” @themeganlouisee wrote.
Who knows — the support of her fans may have been the confidence boost that Rexha needed to walk the pink carpet tonight… Nonetheless, she looked nothing short of spectacular.
Nominated For Best Collaboration
Bebe Rexha is nominated in the Best Collaboration category for “I’m Good (Blue)” with David Guetta, and our fingers are crossed that she will take home the iconic “Moon Person” trophy.
During the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show, the songstress was asked what she would do with the award if she wins, to which she responded, “I would give it to my mom, so she can put it in her house” — how sweet is that?
