Adam Lambert delivered a powerful rendition of a Duran Duran hit during the season 22 finale of NBC’s The Voice.

On Tuesday evening (Dec. 13), the Queen frontman and award-winning singer took to the NBC Studios stage for a live performance of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World.”

Lambert, who performed his version of the iconic rock hit, stunned while performing the piano-driven ballad that allowed his powerhouse vocals to shine vibrantly. Donning all white and surrounded by white drapery and props, the 40-year-old singer somberly performed the tune in honor of the victims who lost their lives in the mass shooting that occurred at Club Q in Colorado Springs and the LGBTQ+ community.

Lambert’s cover of “Ordinary World” will appear on his upcoming new album, High Drama, which will feature 11 tracks. The diverse collection of tunes span from classics such as Ann Peebles’ “I Can’t Stand The Rain” and Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out For A Hero,” to modern hits like Billie Eilish’s “Getting Older,” Sia’s “Chandelier,” Kings Of Leon’s “Sex On Fire,” Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast,” and more.

The upcoming project was executive produced by Lambert alongside Tommy English (Kacey Musgraves, Carly Rae Jepsen), Andrew Wells (Halsey, OneRepublic), George Moore and Mark Crew.

Adam Lambert is no stranger to impressing crowds with his carefully curated transformation of other artist’s songs, from the beginning of his career on American Idol, to his 2018 performance at the Kennedy Center Honors where Lambert reduced Cher to tears with his delicate ballad reading of her mega-hit “Believe,” to his role as the current frontman of Queen.

High Drama arrives on February 24, 2023 and is currently available for preorder now HERE.

The season 22 finale of NBC’s The Voice aired on Tuesday evening (Dec. 13) at 9/8c on NBC and will air again tomorrow (Dec. 14) on Peacock.

The two-hour finale also featured performances from Kelly Clarkson, Maluma, OneRepublic, Adam Lambert, BRELAND and the season 21 winner of The Voice, Girl Named Tom.

The Voice coaches—Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello and John Legend—also took to the stage alongside The Voice finalists—Omar Jose Cardona, Brayden Lape, Bryce Leatherwood, Morgan Myles, and bodie.

In addition to performing alongside Team Blake finalists, Shelton also joined Kane Brown to deliver the live debut of their brand-new duet, “Different Man.”
