Will Dempsey is remembering his late friend Audrey in an unreleased new song titled “Beat You There.”
In a video shared on social media Tuesday (Jan. 26), Dempsey performed an unreleased, emotion-filled track with just his signature vocals and an acoustic guitar. The singer shared that his late friend Audrey passed away following a bad accident a few months ago.
“A few of my close friends got into a bad accident some months back. A couple of them sustained some pretty serious injuries and one of them passed away as a result of them,” Dempsey explained. “I had known Audrey since we were kids, but just recently got a lot closer to her over the last few years.”
Dempsey continued to gush over he and Audrey’s friendship explaining that he’s known her since they were children, but over the recent years they have grown to become much closer friends.
“I had known Audrey since we were kids, but just recently got a lot closer to her over the last few years,” the “Best Parts Of Me” singer continued. “She was genuinely a good person, inside and out, and anyone who really knew her would tell you the same thing. She was always smiling, always ready to have a good time, and always willing to help out with whatever you had going on. The world is a little bit darker of a place without her in it.”
The rising star’s late friend was always a big supporter of his music and he remembers her always coming to see him play, so naturally when she passed, he felt he owed it to her to write a song in her memory to honor her in the best way that he knew and that’s how “Beat You There” came to be.
