Luke Bryan and contestant Alex Miller from Kentucky are set to perform a duet of Merle Haggard’s “Big City” during the season premiere of American Idol on February 14. American Idol is giving fans another sneak peek at the upcoming season in a new video shared on Friday (Feb. 5).

“What I love about American Idol is that you never know what’s going to walk through that door,” Bryan shared. “There was a kid, Alex from Kentucky and I actually got up and played with him.”

In a new teaser clip shared by Idol, Bryan joins Miller’s audition to sing the Haggard song. The judge and contestant pairing found Miller singing in perfect harmony with Bryan, while both of them played acoustic guitar. Miller’s classic country voice blended flawlessly with Bryan’s vocals in the clip.

During their duet, Katy Perry cheered Bryan and Miller on, yelling “yeahh.”
