WATCH: Dolly Parton & Miley Cyrus Appear In New Clips For T-Mobile’s Historic Super Bowl Commercial

On Friday (Feb. 11), T-Mobile, the popular “Un-Carrier” phone network, shared two new teaser clips from their upcoming Super Bowl LVI commercial that features country music icon Dolly Parton and global superstar Miley Cyrus.

“I’m grateful to help T-Mobile bring awareness to this modern misfortune,” Parton says. “Trust me, I know it’s hard to shine like a diamond on a rhinestone network, and we just want these 5G phones to shine on the nation’s largest, fastest 5G network.”

The first clip finds Parton, who is wearing a long sleeve white shirt with a jewel-emblazoned silver corset, delivering a public service announcement. During the PSA, Parton reveals T-Mobile’s mantra “that no 5G phone should be trapped on a limited 5G network.”

“When I see a problem, I am going to fix it. America’s got a serious problem, so I’m going to get it off my chest,” Parton shares before pulling a T-Mobile phone out of her bra. “5G phones… trapped in limited 5G networks, but you can make a difference. If you join T-Mobile, these phones will be able to shine their brightest like me, I have my own theme park. T-Mobile do it for the phones.”

As the clip comes to a close, Cyrus calls Parton on a video chat and asks, “how can I help these phones?,” prompting Parton to reply, “you’ve got a voice Miley, use it!”

In a second video, which is a continuation of the first clip, Cyrus is seen having a flashback to when Parton told her “you’ve got a voice Miley, use it.”

Cyrus then takes to a studio in Hollywood, California, to sing a jingle she wrote for T-Mobile dubbed, “Do It For The Phones.”

“Do it for the phones / that do so much for you / when they’re out there all alone / there’s something we can do / T-Mobile / look at these maps they don’t lie / and faster speeds nationwide / let’s do it for the phones,” Cyrus sings before the infamous T-Mobile sound plays.

The news of Cyrus and Parton’s collaborative Super Bowl commercial was revealed on Twitter late Wednesday (Feb. 9) afternoon, when they shared a teaser clip of what’s to come on Super Bowl Sunday.

Sound tracked by Survivor’s “Eye Of The Tiger,” the clip opens with Parton chatting with Cyrus over a video call on their T-Mobile cell phones as the 76-year-old country music icon tells her goddaughter, “you got a voice Miley, use it.”

As the clip continues, Cyrus is seen sitting on a green couch surrounded by plaques and awards in what looks like a studio. It appears the singer is attempting to write a song and can’t seem to find the words before she stops and asks “what would Dolly do?”

She then jots down some notes on paper and the teaser clip concludes, telling fans to tune on Super Bowl Sunday to see the rest of the commercial.

The clip, which is T-Mobile’s ninth Super Bowl commercial, marks the first godmother-goddaughter ad in Super Bowl history.

To celebrate, T-Mobile will donate $250,000 to Miley Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation, which funds programs that support homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.

“When Aunt Dolly asked me to team up with her and T-Mobile, I was excited to use my voice to enhance this message,” Cyrus says of the collaboration. “I’m also thrilled to call T-Mobile a friend and partner of The Happy Hippie Foundation, as they join our mission to fight injustice particularly facing the homeless youth here in Los Angeles, home to the Super Bowl this year.”

In 2021, the T-Mobile Super Bowl ad famously featured Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

The Los Angeles Rams will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, airing Sunday, February 13 at 6:30 pm ET, 5:30 CT, 4:30 MT, and 3:30 PT. The game will air live on NBC.
