Chris Young and Mitchell Tenpenny shined during their epic performance on Kelly Clarkson’s EMMY-award winning talk show.
The country superstars performed their latest duet, “At The End Of A Bar,” during The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday (Oct. 5).
Co-written by Young alongside Tenpenny and Chris DeStefano, “At The End Of A Bar” is the fourth single from Young’s third studio album and finds the country crooners telling the story of how lots can happen during a conversation at the bar, whether that’d be a significant other, a new friend or a party crowd.
“‘Let me ask you a question. Are you against us having that be a duet, both of us on it?’ He’s like, ‘Absolutely not. I’d love that.’” Young previously told PopCulture of the collaboration. “So we mock up a version of it and sent it around and everybody fell in love with the song, and they’re like, ‘This is great.’ So just a very organic way for that kind of thing to happen. And yeah, it just kind of jumped off the page, all on its own.”

The track appears on Young’s latest album, Famous Friends, a 14-track project that includes his chart-topping single of the same name with Kane Brown. In addition to “Famous Friends” and “At The End Of A Bar,” the album also features several previously released tracks, including “Raised on Country,” “Drowning” and “Town Ain’t Big Enough,” a song which features Lauren Alaina.
The album’s title comes after the success of its lead single, according to Young.
“This song has really made a name for itself with how much people love it,” Young previously told PEOPLE of the track. “Going into the album launch right here in the heat of the summer with a song that’s becoming one of the songs of the summer, it made a lot of sense to call this Famous Friends.”
The eighth studio album marked Young’s first new album since the release of his 2017 project, Losing Sleep.
Additionally, Young is gearing up to hit the road on his Famous Friends Tour with special guests Tenpenny and Callista Clark. The tour, which will play 12 arenas and amphitheaters, kicks off on October 21 in Little Rock, Arkansas’ First Security Amphitheater and wraps up on December 5 in Uncasville, CT.
