Carly Pearce slayed a cover of a Carrie Underwood hit on Tuesday, March 29, in Nashville, Tennessee.

During Tuesday evening’s songwriters round at 3rd & Lindsley as part of the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival, Pearce performed alongside several fellow ASCAP songwriters, including Josh Kear, Chris Tompkins and Matt Stell.

While performing, Pearce sang a brief portion of Carrie Underwood’s chart-topping hit, “Before He Cheats,” with Kear and Tompkins, who are the co-writers of the popular revenge anthem.  Pearce’s impromptu performance of the smash hit came after one of the song’s co-writers asked the Kentucky native to sing the final chorus of the song.

As she concluded the lyric “because the next time that he cheats, oh you know it won’t be on me,” Pearce threw shade at an ex saying, “hell no!”

The “29” singer then continued to perform the song, finishing out the track’s chorus.

“I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive / Carved my name into his leather seats / I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights / I slashed a hole in all four tires / Maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats / oh maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats,” Pearce sings on the chorus.

Established in 1993 by NSAI, Tin Pan South, which wraps on April 2, is the largest songwriter’s festival in the world and featured nearly 400 songwriters across all genres of music, performing in over 90 writers rounds.

The country hitmaker is currently in the midst of her headlining ‘29‘ Tour, which is set to wrap up in just a few days on April 9 in Toronto, Canada.

Additionally, Pearce will join Kenny Chesney later this summer on his Here And Now Tour, which kicks off on April 23 in Tampa, Florida and runs through August 27, where the trek wraps up in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Dan + Shay and Old Dominion will also serve as support on the trek in select dates.
