American Idol continues on Sunday, April 3, with the Duet Challenge during Hollywood Week.

Ahead of Sunday’s show, Idol shared their first duet pairing, which consists of Christian Guardino and Nicolina Bozzo, who performed a powerful rendition of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli’s “The Prayer”

The former America’s Got Talent contestant and Bozzo dub themselves Cantante Forte, an Italian phrase that translates to Strong Singer in English. A phrase that perfectly describes Guardino and Bozzo as they are two of the best powerhouse vocalists on this season of Idol.

“Oh my God, Hold onto your wigs!” Katy Perry shouted before the pair began to belt out the lyrics to “The Prayer.”

Following their performance, which had the Idol judges and their fellow contestant giving them a standing ovation, Lionel Richie critiqued the singer’s duet.

“Crazy! I have to tell you when you can stand on a stand under pressure and we’re mesmerized just watching how you play off of each other. It has all the makings of something so special, but you’re growing, you’re growing,” Richie shared. “This time now we have to break it down to who goes forward and who goes back and what the heck, I don’t know. I can just make this very simple… When you have a duel, somebody gets shot. When you have voices of this power, it’s who cut through.”

“I think it’s quite obvious… You both cut through,” Richie revealed with a smile.

Guardino and Bozzo shared a hug and happy tears as it was revealed they will be advancing to the next round.

“You’re both going to the next round,” Richie said as the room burst into applause.

Both contestants advanced to the next round, which is the Showstopper Round.

American Idol Duets Challenge Hollywood Week show airs on Sunday, April 3 at 8/7c on ABC.
