Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld shared a moment with his daughter Blue Reed that he won’t soon forget.

The band’s frontman, Furstenfeld, shared a special moment on stage with his teenage daughter in Dallas, Texas at the House Of Blues Dallas. Furstenfeld’s daughter Blue Reed Furstenfeld joined her dad and the rest of Blue October, composed of Furstenfeld, his brother, drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye, bassist Matt Noveskey, and lead guitarist Will Knaak, for an unforgettable performance of their duet, “Fight For Love,” a track from the band’s latest album, This Is What I Live For.

Furstenfeld shared a photo of the memorable moment on Instagram, which marked the first-time the daddy/daughter pairing have ever shared the stage together.

“This weekend changed my life forever,” Furstenfeld shared on Instagram alongside a photo of him and Blue. “My daughter Blue sang with me for the first time and I stood in awe.”

“We’ve both come so far and to see you and Sarah standing side stage together made my heart explode with gratitude,” Furstenfeld continued. “Blue I’m so proud of you.”

Co-written Matt Noveskey alongside Steve Schiltz and Justin Furstenfeld, “Fight For Love” is a track that was released in June 2020 as the fifth track on their tenth studio album, This Is What I Live For (2020).

“Well, I’ve always loved singing like my dad, and I’ve always loved music in general, just anything with that,” Blue Reed previously told 519 Magazine of their “Fight For Love” duet. “My dad he begs me all the time, just to make music with him, to be able to sit there and just be with him while he does it, so he can teach me, and so I can really understand it. So it’s a song called ‘Fight for Love,’ and it’s just really about family, just doing what’s best for your family. I think that was the one I probably should have been on, just because we’re family.”

While Furstenfeld described the song as, “standing up for something you believe in so much that you respectfully go to the ends of the earth for them.”
