Blake Shelton and his wife, pop superstar Gwen Stefani treated patrons to live entertainment over the weekend at the country crooner’s popular bar and music venue, Ole Red, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. And, while the celebrity couple stunned folks with their songs and talent, the “Just a Girl” singer’s eldest son, Kingston Rossdale, truly stole the show.
A video shared to TikTok on Saturday (Aug. 12) shows Shelton, 47, seated on a stool and preparing the audience for Rossdale’s entrance and live debut performance.
Building up the crowd anticipation, he says, “Folks. This guy is an artist. He’s the real deal, and you guys are going to be able to say that you were there for his very first-ever performance.”
“I will preface this by saying, this dude is rock. I don’t just mean, he rocks, but his music is rock….,” he continues. “He’s only 17 years old, everybody. Here he is, Mr. Kingston Rossdale, everybody!”
Confident Stage Presence
Unaware of the kid’s talent, Rossdale then makes a big impression on what appears to be a standing-room-only audience. He takes the stage with plenty of charisma and confidence and shows that he is able to follow in his family’s footsteps. While onstage, Rossdale doesn’t hesitate to pump up the crowd.
“What’s up Tishomingo?” He says to welcome applause. “How are y’all feeling? Are you ready for this?”
Backed by a guitarist and keyboard player, Rossdale grabs the microphone and settles into his place, which seems natural for him. As he leans into the microphone, he amplifies the room with his strong and impressive vocal range.
Another clip shows Rossdale singing a second tune while showing off his low and long notes, with audience members dancing in place and filming the showcase.
“Love you guys. Thank you for being here!” Rossdale tells the crowd afterward, while the fans share their excitement with screams and an eruption of applause. “Thank you, it means everything to me, really. I hope you guys had a great night. Enjoy yourselves!”
Proud Stepdad
Capping off the special moment, Rossdale turned around to exit the stage but made sure to give his stepdad, Shelton, a giant bear hug, which made the room even more thrilled to get to experience the once-in-a-lifetime evening. Following Rossdale’s musical debut, Shelton return to the stage and brought out his wife, Stefani, for a round of duets.
As previously shared, Stefani (who shares Rossdale and sons, Zuma and Apollo, with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale) and Shelton also played a round of songs during the hometown affair. One clip, posted on TikTok, shows Stefani providing an acoustic take on her No Doubt hit, “Don’t Speak.” Shelton joins her for the performance but makes sure to give her the spotlight by positioning his stool behind her and strumming along on the guitar.
“How sweet is this, him scooting back, so Gwen can be center-stage,” the user acknowledges Shelton’s actions in the clip.
Alerted Fans Of The Surprise Moment Earlier This Month
Shelton alerted fans about his free pop-up performance at Tishomingo’s Ole Red earlier this week, writing a handful of captions on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
“Ok, y’all here’s the deal… 7:30 pm this Friday, I’m gonna set up and play 30 minutes or so acoustically,” he shared in his first post on Wednesday (Aug. 9). “Then I’m gonna turn the stage over to a debut artist that will be doing their VERY FIRST public performance! See you at the @OleRed Tishomingo Doghouse!!!! You never know who else may show up….”
“Hey, guys I just came down here to look things over,” he said in a second post, presumably referring to his ranch, where he and Stefani got married in the summer of 2021. “Decided I’m gonna hop up and play 5 or 6 songs in the restaurant side of @OleRed Tishomingo in about an hour if anyone wants to come grab a beer and listen.”
“Oh! And I’m still doing the thing tomorrow too!” He confirmed in another post, letting fans know the show would take place on Friday (Aug. 11).
In a fourth post, he wrote, “See y’all back at @OleRed Tish tomorrow!!!!”
Blake shelton’s Ole Red
While Ole Red in Tishomingo may be special to the former The Voice coach, folks who don’t live in Oklahoma can look forward to seeing more Ole Reds in other states.
Earlier this year, Shelton and Ryman Hospitality Properties announced a new location coming in Las Vegas, Nev. Located in front of Caesars Entertainment’s Horseshoe at the Grand Bazaar Shops on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, fans can expect Ole Red Las Vegas to open its doors in 2024.
