The Weeknd Brings Visually Stunning, Cinematic Performance To Pepsi’s Super Bowl LV Halftime Show

The Weeknd brought a visually stunning performance to the 2021 Super Bowl LV Pepsi Halftime Show tonight (Feb. 7) in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium.

The hitmaker launched his stunning 14-minute performance in a car surrounded by the Vegas lights and a massive choir to his hit single “Star Boy.” He brought along his signature After Hours-era attire, donning his Michael Jackson-esque sparkling red suit jacket, black pants and white/black shiny shoes.

After an impressive performance of “The Hill,” the singer brought his “Blinding Lights” music video to life inside of a mirror maze filled with light bulbs to his smash hit “I Can’t Feel My Face,” accompanied by several look-a-likes who were wearing face casts as they showcased some flawless choreography surrounding him.

“I Feel It Coming” was performed under the moonlight accompanied by fireworks, the singer stunned with his current single “Save Your Tears” from atop the Vegas skyline alongside a Choir before going into the Fifty Shades Of Grey track, “Earned It.”

Following “Earned It,” the R&B singer brought a few hundred look-a-likes wearing his signature red blazer to end his set with a song that dominates radio across the globe, “Blinding Lights.” Ending with a grande finale worthy fireworks display.

He brought his performance to life visually, not just on the field but also the stands and all around the stadium.

“Due to the COVID, and for the safety of the players and the workers, we built a stage within the stadium,” The Weeknd said. “And we’re also using the field as well. But we wanted to do something that we’ve never done before.”

The Weeknd spent $7 million dollars of his own money to “make this halftime show be what he envisioned.”

Additionally, to commemorate the highly anticipated Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime performance, The Weeknd teamed up with the NFL, Roc Nation and Bravado to bring a collection to life. This marks the NFL’s most extensive product launch with a Super Bowl Halftime show performer.

The 4-piece apparel collection is in collaboration with designer Warren Lotas and includes two handcrafted Jeff Hamilton leather jackets, and a custom XO black leather Wilson football, the official ball of the NFL.

A variation of the assortment is sold on NFLShop.com/TheWeekndshop.theweeknd.com, and Wilson.com.
