Shinedown frontman Brent Smith had a close call with the band’s pyrotechnics during a recent concert.
On April 1, in the midst of a concert in Spokane, Washington, on the Revolution’s Live Tour, Smith was singing when a burst of pyro exploded from beneath the stage and struck the “Planet Zero” singer.
Smith handled the situation like a champ and ran out of the fire quickly as he wiped his face and continued to power through their electrifying set as if nothing happened like the true rock star that he is.
As he concluded his performance of the song, it appears a crew member ran on stage, wearing all white, to make sure that Smith was okay after being in the path of the pyrotechnics. Thankfully, Smith is uninjured and is okay after the incident, which you can see below.
Shinedown never disappoints, especially when it comes to their live performances. The band’s concerts always feature a stellar production full of pyrotechnics, lasers, vibrant lighting and fireworks. The Revolution’s Live tour is no different from any other Shinedown tour, in fact, this trek, featuring support from The Pretty Reckless and Diamante, brings a massive production full of unique effects to boost the show even more.
The band even recently shared that this tour features “by far the best production and show we’ve ever done!”
Zach Myers recently took to Twitter to share that the incident was totally Smith’s own fault as he knew where the pyro was situated and when it fired, however, confirmed that the singer is fine.
“Entirely his fault. He knew where it was. He’s fine though,” Myers wrote on Twitter in response to a fan who tweeted, “you guys rethinking the floor pyro? Glad @thebrentsmith was ok.”

Shinedown are gearing up to released their highly-anticipated new album, Planet Zero. The project, which was originally set for release on April 22, will now be released on July 1, due to production delays.
“As a band, we have decided to sadly push our album from April 22nd to July 1st, and here’s why,” the group shared in a video clip. “Due to delays in physical production of vinyl and CDs, we want everyone to be able to experience ‘Planet Zero’ together as a community, because that’s what ‘Planet Zero’ is about. So pay attention to our e-mail newsletter and we promise you it will be worth the wait. Stay with us. ‘Planet Zero’ is coming; it’s just coming a little later than expected.”
We've made the difficult decision to move the album release from April 22nd to July 1st due to delays in vinyl production. We want to ensure our fans have FULL access to Planet Zero via every possible medium on the day it comes out! 💜 Much love! – Brent, Zach, Barry, Eric pic.twitter.com/D90uycPAFH
