Shania Twain has shared a behind-the-scenes clip that didn’t make her Netflix documentary, Not Just a Girl. In the never-before-seen footage, the country superstar was listening to one of her most iconic songs, “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” and decided to harmonize with herself during a moment of reflection.

In her TikTok post, Twain wrote in her caption, “There’s so much stuff that doesn’t make the final cut!! I want to share some of those unseen moments with you because it would be a shame to waste them! This one is pretty fun – Here’s me harmonizing with… me!!”

One thing I learned during the filming of the Not Just A Girl documentary is… There’s so much stuff that doesn’t make the final cut!! I want to share some of those unseen moments with you because it would be a shame to waste them! This one is pretty fun – Here’s me harmonising with… me!! 😂🥰 #notjustagirl #letsgogirls #production

Twain revealed that it was a difficult song to record. “It was really, really tiring. It’s a hard song to sing, actually.” She decided to challenge herself in the moment, saying “I should do my own warm-ups to that vocal.” The 56-year-old then played back audio of the song, narrating the experience. “I’m now harmonizing with my — how old was I? — 30-something self.”

The country icon’s documentary, Not Just a Girl, premiered on Netflix in July, telling fans on Twitter that it was “pretty surreal” filming a documentary about herself.

Twain’s documentary features interviews with Lionel Richie, Diplo, Avril Lavigne, Orville Peck, and Kelsea Ballerini, and is accompanied by an 18-track album, Not Just a Girl (The Highlights).

Twain was awarded the 2022 ACM Poet’s Award at ACM Honors on August 24 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, where Kelsea Ballerini and Avril Lavigne honored her with performances of “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” and “No One Needs to Know,” respectively.

The ACM Honors ceremony will air September 13 at 8/7c on FOX.
