With a red carpet look that caused jaws to drop, Post Malone is channeling his inner cowboy on Wednesday evening (Nov. 8) at the 57th Annual CMA Awards, prior to putting on a can’t-miss performance alongside country superstars Morgan Wallen and HARDY later this evening.
Walking the carpet with a red solo cup in hand, stopping to snap a trio photo with both Wallen and HARDY along the way, the hip hop artist embraced the fact that the CMA Awards is “Country Music’s Biggest Night,” rocking a classy black suit with a little bit of extra western-inspired flair.
Pairing said suit with a nude-colored cowboy hat, as well as a bolo tie with detailing of a bald eagle, the rapper looked like a true cowboy.
Post Malone Makes CMA Awards Debut
Despite making his CMA Awards debut this evening — marking his first time performing at a country music awards show in general — this is not his first time dabbling in the country music industry. In fact, Post Malone has admitted to being an avid fan of the genre on numerous occasions, even considering releasing a country album at some point in the future.
Covering Brad Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song),” Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have the Crown,” and more during performances in the past, Post Malone’s collection of country covers will expand tonight after putting on a medley of country classics alongside both Wallen and HARDY on the CMA Awards stage.

In what will likely go down as one of the most iconic moments in CMA Awards history, Morgan Wallen, HARDY, and Post Malone teamed up for an unforgettable two-song tribute to the late Joe Diffie during the 57th Annual CMA Awards.
Wallen and HARDY kicked off the buzzed-about moment with Diffie’s 1993 hit, “John Deere Green.” The spirited performance found the artists backed by Wallen’s touring band while in the middle of the Bridgestone Arena floor.
Next, the longtime friends and tour mates were joined by Post Malone for a rousing rendition of Diffie’s “Pickup Man.” Sporting skinny jeans, an orange jacket, and a trucker hat, the genre-bending star held his own alongside HARDY and Wallen as the crowd sang along in unison.
While Post Malone was not nominated for any awards himself, his collaborators were among the most-nominated of the evening. Morgan Wallen were nominated for Entertainer Of The Year, Male Vocalist Of The Year, and Album Of The Year for One Thing At A Time, while HARDY is up for Single Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Musical Event Of The Year, and Music Video Of The Year all for “Wait In The Truck.”
Later this year, Post Malone will perform at Stagecoach, where he will perform country covers.
