While live concerts and events can be an enjoyable experience for fans, there’s always the risk of something happening that’s completely out of the norm. After all, with masses of people located in one space, no one can truly predict how a night will unfold. An attendee could get into a brawl with another concertgoer, a storm rolling in could bring chaos and cause the show to start late, or a fan could even throw the ashes of their deceased parents up onstage.

It turns out the latter of those three possibilities actually happened in the middle of a P!nk concert. The bizarre moment took place over the weekend on Friday (June 23rd), during the 43-year-old pop superstar’s show at BST Hyde Park in London. The performance was one of many stops on P!nk’s Summer Carnival Tour, which wraps in 2024.

A video posted to YouTube by user, John and Rob’s Concert Vids, shows P!nk in the middle of her uptempo jam “Just Like a Pill” from her second studio album, Missundaztood.

The singer, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore Heart, looks glam, wearing her heavily sparkly and studded moto jacket that pairs nicely with her mohawk-style hair. But, she breaks from her celebrity persona for a brief moment after she realizes what’s in the bag that a fan tossed onstage.

“Step Too Far”

Pausing to pick up the clear plastic bag with powdered contents, P!nk asks, “Is this your mom?” to which the fan confirms it, in fact, is.

“I don’t know how to feel about this,” an uneasy P!nk responds, holding the cremated ashes with her finger holding only the corner.

Despite the odd gesture, it appeared as if the audience wasn’t phased by the out-of-the-ordinary act, and they allowed P!nk to continue the show as planned. After setting the bag of ashes down on stage, the Grammy winner jumped right back into “Just Like A Pill.”

P!nk provided a high-energy set that includes hit tracks like “Get The Party Started,” “So What,” her latest single, “Trustfall,” and more. The concert also included P!nk’s use of acrobatics, where she is seen suspended in the air. She also incorporated plenty of stage props, including trampolines, lighting, dancers, and more into the show.

Gwen Stefani Served As Support On The Show

P!nk’s recent show at BST Hyde Park included Gwen Stefani on the bill as a supporting act. Before the performance, P!nk took to her Instagram page to note how much of an impact Stefani has had on her throughout the years.

“I have known you for a long time, and I have looked up to you like a big sister. You’re the coolest, kindest, and you always have the most swag in the room,” P!nk captioned alongside a photo featuring her and Stefani smiling at each other while sharing a big hug. “Thank you for spending your weekend with me. We have so much more to cover 😂 I’m gonna call you tomorrow lol. I love you. ❤️ 💕.”

“I love YOU! Thank you for allowing me to share the stage with [you] this weekend,” Stefani replied in the comments section of the post. “You are such a rockstar. You speak the truth, and I am constantly inspired by you!!! Cheers to many more moments like this 💖.”

P!nk’s Summer Carnival tour kicked off on June 7, 2023, at the University of Bolton Stadium in Bolton, England. The trek will continue its run in Europe through July 16 before P!nk heads to North America for a run of shows through Oct. 8. P!nk’s Summer Carnival tour wraps on March 19, 2024, in Brisbane, Australia.
