Morgan Wallen won three awards at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards!

Despite being excluded from the 2021 BBMAs, Wallen has already taken home three awards ahead of the coveted awards show that takes place tonight (May 23) in Los Angeles.

Wallen won Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist as well as Top Country Album for his record-breaking album, Dangerous: The Double Album. In addition to winning the aforementioned awards, Wallen was also nominated for Top Song Sales Artist and had 2 nods for Top Country Song for “Chasing You” and “More Than My Hometown.”

The “Wasted On You” singer was forbidden by Dick Clark Productions (DCP) to have participation within the 2021 awards ceremony and will be unable to accept the awards according to the statement. DCP recently shared a statement that read that the BBMAs will “not be including him [Wallen] on the show in any capacity (performing, presenting, accepting).”

“It is heartening and encouraging to hear that Morgan is taking steps in his anti-racist journey and starting to do some meaningful work,” a statement from DCP continued. “We plan to evaluate his progress and will consider his participation in future shows.”

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles May 23 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
