Morgan Wallen is set to appear on ABC’s Good Morning America tomorrow, Friday, July 23, for an exclusive sit-down interview with GMA’s Michael Strahan.
According to a clip shared on GMA’s social media, Wallen opens up about his use of a racial slur during his first interview since the controversial video surfaced.
“So this is not the first time you said the word,” Strahan says in the preview, later adding a narration, “there’s going to be a lot of people who are going to watch this and say, ‘he’s only sitting down because he wants to clean up his image. It’s all a performance.’ So what do you say to that?”
“I understand that. I’m not ever going to make everyone happy. I can only come tell my truth and that’s all I know to do,” Morgan replied.
Fans will have to tune in to GMA to hear Wallen’s remarks. GMA airs at 7am local time on ABC.
Wallen’s mom, Lesli, also shared the news of his appearance on Instagram and wrote, “I haven’t seen this yet. I know it was a hard thing to do. None of this should have ever happened.”
Dierks Bentley is also set to appear on Good Morning America on Friday as part of the show’s Summer Concert Series.
