Morgan Wallen wrote a heartfelt letter to a 12-year-old fan in need after the boy’s mother reached out to their local radio station and asked if the “Don’t Think Jesus” singer could offer her son a pick-me-up.

Wallen wound up sending the boy, named Brevin Guidroz a personalized letter along with a hat and T-shirt from his merch store. Guidroz’s mother, Andrea posted a video of her son opening up the package from Wallen and thanked 97.3 The Dawg for helping her get in touch with the singer. Jude Walker, the manager of the Louisiana radio station was reportedly approached by a member of Wallen’s team when he played a show at the Cajundome back on Apr. 23 and asked for Brevin’s address.

The boy’s mother told Taste of Country that 12-year-old Brevin had been struggling with feelings of abandonment after his father gave up his rights to the boy. The situation prompted Brevin to start therapy, which has helped him “tremendously.” Guidroz told the outlet that she reached out to Wallen because she hoped he could offer her son some encouragement and let him know he was doing a “good job.” Guidroz also shared that Wallen is someone who her son looks up to.

“When you publicly apologized [for the situation in which Wallen was caught using a racial slur on video], we sat down together and watched it because YOU are someone he looks up to!” Guidroz reportedly said in her note to Wallen, according to Taste of Country. “The words you said, recognizing your wrong doings, & taking accountability of your wrong doings. YOUR ACTIONS MATTER! Although he has A LOT to learn, he is learning. That being said, if you could just reply and with a simple “Good Job, Brevin” for a little positive reinforcement, it would absolutely make his day! As a mother, I can’t thank you enough for being the role model you are,” she added.

Guidroz posted a series of photos and a video of her son opening the package from Wallen on her Facebook page. When Brevin realized who the package was from, he cried, and said, “I’m so blessed.”

The boy also read the personalized note he received from Wallen.

“Hey Brevin, I heard your story and wanted to say hi and to let you know I’m in your corner and proud of you,” Wallen said in his note. “I know how tough it can be, but you are stronger than you think. Be true to yourself and understand that nobody is perfect, but as long as we keep working on ourselves and being the best we can be, then we are on the right path. You will succeed in whatever you put your mind to. Stay Strong!,” he concluded.

In response to receiving the package and note from Wallen, Brevin shared one thing he’d like to do.

“More than anything, I would just love to shake [Morgan Wallen’s] hand,” the boy said.

Wallen is currently performing on the Dangerous tour in support of his double album of the same name. The tour concludes on May 29 at the Patriotic Festival in Norfolk, Virginia.

Wallen, who recently broke records with the release of “Don’t Think Jesus,” also shared he would be releasing his song, “You Proof,” which is a fan favorite on his 29th birthday on May 13.

Additionally, Wallen recently released “Thought You Should Know,” a heartfelt tribute to his mother, Lesli.
