Following the release of his raw single “Over For You” that pulled back the curtain on his side of a very public divorce from country star Kelsea Ballerini, Morgan Evans gets even more vulnerable with fans in a new five-part docuseries, out NOW.
Directed by Peter John, the series takes viewers along for the highs and lows of the 37-year-old’s 2022 musical journey throughout Australia and New Zealand, featuring the CMC Rocks QLD Festival where Evans debuted “Over For You” in front of 25,000 people.
“This song is the most personal thing I’ve ever written and the most personal thing I’ve ever shared,” explained Evans of the single.
“I would have searched the whole world over for you/ Took a flight, through the night/ To be that shoulder for you, and I would’ve let go if you wanted me to/ How many times did you say you loved me/ When it wasn’t true?/ I’m just wondering/ How long has it been over for you?” share the heartbreaking lyrics.
After a year spent planning and mere weeks before shooting began, the singer/songwriter went through his divorce, pushing him to sit down and write what he refers to as “the song from my heart.”
“When we started filming this as a tour docuseries last year, we had no idea it would end up documenting some of the most vulnerable parts of my life as an artist and a songwriter,” the singer captioned an Instagram clip of the docuseries release.
Evans’ CMC Rocks performance gained traction rapidly, earning hundreds of thousands of views across social media. In response, he recorded and released to DSPs “Over For You – Live in Melbourne,” available to stream now HERE.
“It felt like channeling all that sort of awfulness into something positive,” said Evans, adding that more than anything, the song acted as a release. “I didn’t realize that I was going to feel this, but after I played it at CMC Rocks, I did feel a weight off my chest.”

Evans shared the official music video for “Over For You” in November 2022, which was filmed in tandem with the documentary and directed by Peter John.
In August of 2022, Kelsea Ballerini filed for divorce from Evans after nearly five years of marriage. “This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce,” she wrote in a statement on social media.
At the time, Evans also shared the news of their divorce, writing “I am very sad to confirm that after almost five years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise, but sadly it is not.”
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Ballerini and Evans reached a divorce settlement in October of 2022, which unveiled details that the pair had “vacated” the home they shared in Nashville.
Additionally, the couple’s divorce was finalized in mid-November of 2022.
In the midst of Evans’ new music and his public divorce from Ballerini, the “Kiss Somebody” singer is gearing up to hit the road alongside country hitmaker Mitchell Tenpenny on The Day Drunk Me Tour this spring in The Netherlands and Germany. The five-date stint will kick off on March 3 in Hamburg and will wrap up on March 8 in Cologne.
He is also set to take the stage with Brett Young and Ashley Cooke on the Brett Young: 5 Tour 3 2 1 that begins on March 30th in Columbus, Ohio and will come to a close on May 20 in Los Angeles, California, at the Greek Theatre.
