Lovebirds Miranda Lambert and her husband Brendan McLoughlin had a whirlwind romance in late 2018, marrying just 3 months after meeting, so it’s no surprise that the couple is still learning new things about each other.
When Lambert was asked during an interview with Vulture which song is her husband Brendan’s favorite, she paused to put him on speakerphone to find out.
Lambert: “I don’t know. I’m going to walk here and ask him right now, because I want to know now. [Puts phone on speaker.] Hey, babe.”
McLoughlin: “Yeah.”
Lambert: “Question.”
McLoughlin: “Shoot.”
Lambert: “What is your favorite song of mine?”
McLoughlin: “Probably the one that you showed me that was a deep cut of yours. ‘Dead Flowers.’”
Lambert: ”Well, lookee there. We have another ‘Dead Flowers’ fan. We just talked about ‘Dead Flowers.’ That’s why it’s funny that you said that. The one that got away. [Takes phone off speaker.] He’s always like, ‘I like the ones you write by yourself.’ I’m like, ‘Of course you do, because it’s hard for me.’”
When Lambert’s Bandwagon Tour wrapped up in June, she decided to take an extended vacation in July with her husband, the first time she’s taken off a full month during the summer since she began her career at age 17. The “If I Was a Cowboy“ singer embarked on a 20-day Airstream adventure through the western U.S. with McLoughlin, backup singer Gwen Sebastian, and Sebastian’s husband Louis Newman.
On July 19, the country hitmaker shared a series of photos on Instagram from the last stop of their incredible adventure, calling it the “best summer ever.” The post included a photo of Lambert sharing a kiss with her husband, as well as photos of river rafting, hanging out with friends, and more.
“Meet me in Montana forever 💛🏔,” Lambert wrote. “Thanks to Gwennie’s family for the great hang and high note to end on. 💖 What an amazing trip. ( thanks to @jed_i_night for planning the adventures of The Sherriff & Toodle Lou) Best summer ever ☀️🚎 #airstreamdreams #tourist”
When it comes to love, Lambert has it in spades. Her doting husband called her “the most talented woman I know” in an Instagram post with a photo of the couple at the ACM Honors.
“Had an amazing evening honoring the most talented woman I know. So proud of you for winning the triple crown award 🏆🏆. The hard work, dedication and sacrifices you have made over the years to pursue your dreams is inspiring. I cant wait to see what the future holds. @mirandalambert #ACMHonors“
McLoughlin will also be by Lambert’s side for her upcoming Las Vegas residency, Velvet Rodeo, which kicks off on Friday (Sept. 23).
Lambert told E! News’ Daily Pop, “We got the schedule figured out where he can come most of the time. We’re taking our dogs so it will feel a little more like home too. I’m excited to be in one spot. I’ve been on a bus since I was 18 years old, so it will be a nice change.”
McLoughlin told ET Online‘s Cassie DiLaura that he will be in attendance daily to support his wife’s residency.
“Every single night I’ll be watching [Miranda] do what she does best,” McLoughlin said.
