Miranda Lambert has nothing but good things to say about Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie XO

While speaking to Music Mayhem, the 39-year-old Texan opened up about her friendship with Jelly Roll, saying the two gelled right off the bat when they sat down together in the writing room for the first time.

“We wrote together with Jesse Frasure and hit it off instantly,” Lambert gushed of her newfound friendship with the Tennessee native. “Jelly and Bunnie are such genuine people, and I instantly felt like we’d been friends for years. And then, on top of becoming friends, we wrote a cool song that’s going to be on his album, so I’m really excited about that.”

That song Lambert is talking about is a catchy track called “The Lost,” which is featured on Jelly Roll’s brand-new debut country album, WHITSITT CHAPEL. An uptempo country boot-stomper, the tune features rock elements as Jelly Roll sings about finding his faith in the darkest of places.

I’ve been known to find my kind of people / That ain’t at home underneath church steeples / You’d be surprised the places I find Jesus / That ain’t the regular crowd / I’ve been down and out / I’m better with the lost than the found / My solid ground / Is better with the lost than the found,” Jelly Roll shows off his signature vocals throughout a chorus that provides a welcoming mood for others to sing along to.

Back in January, Lambert shared her excitement for her new friendship with Jelly Roll and compared their relationship to that of biscuits and gravy.

“Made a new friend this week! Jesse was right when he said we go together like biscuits and gravy! Loved writing a tune with @jellyroll615 and @telemitry. 🤠🤠🤠,” she captioned a set of photos on Instagram that show her smiling and posing with her band of buddies, Jelly Roll and Frasure.

But aside from her camaraderie with Jelly Roll, Lambert has also bonded with Bunnie XO. She previously let the successful Dumb Blonde Podcast host visit her tour bus to potentially borrow it for an upcoming tour, as seen in the TikTok video below.

Jelly Roll’s New Album, WHITSITT CHAPEL

Jelly Roll’s WHITSITT CHAPEL, which dropped on Friday (June 2), is the follow-up to 2021’s Ballads Of The Broken. The album, named after the Antioch church he grew up attending, serves as his first full-length country offering. The project features 13 tracks, three of which are collaborations. They include “Behind Bars,” featuring Brantley Gilbert and Struggle Jennings, “Unlive,” featuring Yelawolf, and “Save Me” featuring Lainey Wilson. The project also includes recent singles, “Need A Favor,” “SHE,” and “Kill A Man.”

“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life,” Jelly Roll, who is gearing up to hit the road for his 2023 Backroad Baptism Tour, said in a statement about the project. “I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. Therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems.”

Y’all Eat Yet? Welcome to The Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen

Lambert, meanwhile, recently celebrated the release of her brand-new cookbook Y’all Eat Yet? Welcome to The Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen, which earned her the title of New York Times best-selling author. “I was shocked, but so thankful that the stories of our sisterhood resonated with so many other people. That made it even more special, getting to share the celebration with my mom and the ya yas,” she shared of her reaction to becoming a New York Times best-selling author.

The book gives readers an inside scoop on Lambert’s life on the road as well as inside her home. The pages also find her sharing backstories about her life, career, and the strong women who influenced her growing up. One of Miranda Lambert favorite recipes also appears in the book. “My mom’s meatloaf is definitely the standout dish in the book. That’s been famous in our family for a long time and is always what gets requested for special occasions, so it’s been really fun to see it shine on such a bigger scale,” Lambert explained to Music Mayhem.
