Miranda Lambert and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, are a match made in – New York.

The country music superstar recently revisited the night she met her spouse while appearing as a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

During the conversation, which took place on Monday (May 1) and also starred singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor, host Cohen requested clarification, recollecting the love story that he heard saying, “He was a cop that was on duty or guarding at GMA, and you kind of saw him when you were there performing?”

How Did Miranda Lambert And Brendan McLoughlin Meet?

Lambert, 39, then confirmed that her appearance on Good Morning America, which took place in November of 2018, was, indeed, the moment she laid eyes on the former NYPD police officer. At the time, she was on set performing alongside Pistol Annies’ members Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.

“We invited him to our show that night,” Lambert said of Brendan McLoughlin, adding, “We did it through security because I’m not going to get out on the street and go ‘Want to go see a country show?’ I felt weird about that, so my security invited him, and we gave him one ticket.”

“I love it,” Cohen responded. “I love that he went alone – that meant he was ready to go.”

Even though McLoughlin received a free ticket to Lambert’s show, the “Actin’ Up” singer, who was living in New York City at the time, shared that her now husband had no idea she was hoping to spark a connection between the two of them.

When they were able to converse, Lambert says McLoughlin just thought she had offered him a complimentary ticket as a way to thank him.

“He was like, ‘I just thought you were thanking me to come to a show,’” Lambert recalled. “I got nervous and didn’t see him before the show. So after, we all – the band and crew – went to a bar and I invited him. We hung out, and he was really cool. My dad’s a police officer, and tons of cops and firemen in my family, so it just settled right in.”

The Couple Secretly Got Married In 2019

The three-time GRAMMY winner was clearly right about her intuition with Brendan McLoughlin because the two have been going strong ever since. In fact, the Texas native announced in Feb. of 2019 that she and McLoughlin, who in 2020 retired from his job where he was serving the NYPD’s Midtown South Precinct, tied the knot.

“In honor of Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you, Brendan McLoughlin for loving me for…. me. #theone,” Lambert tweeted, alongside stunning photos of the pair’s secret wedding.

The Meatloaf Recipe That Got Her The Engagement Ring

More recently, Lambert, who released a new cookbook called, Ya’ll Eat Yet?: Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen, named a recipe included in the book that helped her speed up her marriage with McLoughlin.

“The meatloaf is the recipe in the new cookbook that gets the ring. All the girls that are in our circle know that” she joked while speaking with Fox News Digital at Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday concert, adding that her “mom’s famous meatloaf” was the “first big meal” she cooked for the love of her life.

“That’s the one everyone brings a man home to mom for or calls and asks how to make when things are getting serious,” she said.

“Secret Sauce” To Miranda Lambert And Brendan McLoughlin’s Marriage

More importantly, Lambert shared the key to her successful – and still blossoming – marriage with McLoughlin.

“Communication and laughing together I think is the secret, secret sauce,” she said, despite adding, “Everybody’s still trying to figure that out, I think.”

Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary. The couple currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
