After entering the Top 20 with her viral breakout hit “Tennessee Orange,” Megan Moroney is preparing to take the country music world by storm with her debut album, LUCKY.

Introducing her forthcoming project, Moroney recently released a brand-new song called “Lucky.” The tune serves as the title track for her upcoming record, which will drop via Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records on May 5.

Moroney co-wrote “Lucky” alongside Casey Smith, Ben Williams, and David “Messy” Mescon, and the track was produced by Sugarland’s Kristian Bush. The song, which features rollicking guitars, a walk-down bass, and a shuffle beat, finds Moroney gambling on love as she chooses to throw all caution to the wind for one more night out on the town with a former flame.

Cause me, my phone, and the neon’s buzzin’ / Three, four in and I’m missin’ your lovin’ / We said, “Naw, never again” / And we said we’d be better as friends / But come over and don’t overthink it / Tonight you’re lucky I’m drinkin’,” Moroney effortlessly sings the chorus of the fun-filled tune.

Along with the announcement of her forthcoming album, Moroney also unveiled the album art as well as the tracklisting for LUCKY.

The cover of the album, which she recently posted to Instagram, features Moroney dressed in a gold crop top and miniskirt, paired with a trench coat and cowgirl boots. She leans against a green slot machine showcasing jackpot lucky No. 7’s. The title of the album is, meanwhile, written across a wall behind her in bright green lettering.

“MY DEBUT ALBUM “LUCKY” IS YOURS ON MAY 5TH! & I’m dropping the title track next Friday ☘️ seriously thank y’all so so much for believing in me & my music. This couldn’t have ever happened without you guys – I’m so excited ahhhh preorder available now in my bio 🥹🤭😭🥳,” Moroney captioned on Instagram, alongside the cover of her album.

Nominated For CMT Music Awards, Preparing To Embark On Headlining Tour

Before announcing her next project, Moroney built success around her noticeable talent and stellar raspy vocals. In the summer of 2022, she released her debut EP, Pistol Made of Roses, and followed that up with “Tennessee Orange,” which racked up over 15 million global streams to date.

The Georgia native also recently scored two nominations, going into the 2023 CMT Music Awards, which will air live on April 2 from the Moody Center in Austin, TX, at 8:00-11:00 PM ET/PT on CBS and will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. Moroney is up for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year and CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year for “Tennessee Orange.”

On April 15, Moroney will embark on her first headlining run of shows with the sold-out Pistol Made of Roses tour. The tour, which wraps up on April 28 at Brewsky’s in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, features support from Logan Crosby.

Later this year, Moroney will join Brooks & Dunn’s Reboot 2023 Tour alongside fellow opener Scotty McCreery. That trek begins May 4 in Kansas City, MO, and runs through June 17 in Greensboro, NC.

LUCKY is due out May 5.
