Luke Combs is returning to country radio with “Going, Going, Gone,” a fan-favorite from his new album, Growin’ Up.
The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year revealed the news via social media earlier this week.
“Excited to let y’all know ‘Going, Going, Gone’ will be my next single on country radio,” Combs shared alongside a video of him performing the song.

“Going, Going, Gone” was a standout track upon the release of Growin’ Up in June. Combs co-wrote the song alongside James McNair and Ray Fulcher.
“Like a runaway southbound train / Like an Arizona desert rain / Like lightning in the sky / Like fireworks in July / Like a left field home run ball / Like a whiskey shot at last call / It’s like she was made for moving on / That girl is going, going, gone,” Combs sings on the track’s chorus.
The North Carolina native recently reflected on writing the song and revealed that he had the title saved in his phone for a “really, really long time.”
“We’re sitting there, we’re trying to figure out what we’re going to write. And we had decided we were going to write ‘Going, Going, Gone.’ And as we sat there trying to come up with stuff, I was just playing this riff and the riff really became the focal point of the song for me. I’ve always loved Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ and no way is this song even close to as good as that one. But I’ve always loved how that riff immediately, you know, the second it gets played, you know what song it is, and you love it. And I think I wanted to try to kind of, you know, create something that was my own version of that,” Combs explained.
This song marked a first for Combs, who played guitar on the record.
“This is my first time playing guitar on an album. I was super nervous to do that. Somehow I got it done,” he laughed.
The final product became one of Combs’ “favorite songs” on the project.
“Going, Going, Gone” appears on his latest album, Growin’ Up, which debuted at No. 1 upon its release and features the chart-topping hits, “Doin’ This,” “The Kind Of Love We Make,” as well as “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” a duet with Miranda Lambert, among several others.
The new single announcement comes on the heels of the reigning CMA Entertainer Of The Year’s CMA nominations, which include Entertainer Of The Year, Male Vocalist Of The Year and Album Of The Year (Growin’ Up).

Combs is currently in the midst of his headlining Middle Of Somewhere Tour, which features special guests Lainey Wilson, Jordan Davis and Morgan Wade on select dates. The trek kicked off with two sold-out shows on Friday (Sept. 3) and Saturday (Sept. 4). The Middle Of Somewhere Tour continues through December of 2022.
Following his Middle Of Somewhere Tour, Combs will embark on a Canadian headlining trek with support from Riley Green and Chayce Beckham in November.
Additionally, Combs recently announced a massive world tour that will visit three continents and 16 countries. The trek, which will be hitting stadiums and arenas across the globe, is set to kick off on March 25 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and wrap up in London, England at The O2 Arena on October 19.
Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry and Brent Cobb will serve as support on the North American tour date, while special guests on the Australian and New Zealand dates include Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman.
The world tour will visit 16 stadiums across North America, including Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, Kansas City’s GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium and more. Hitting three continents and 16 countries, the massive outing will also stop in Australia, New Zealand, U.K., Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, France and Belgium.
