Luke Bryan opened up about his flourishing friendship with English actor Orlando Bloom and says Katy Perry is jealous of their newfound bromance.
On Monday (Feb.7), the country superstar made a special appearance on Good Morning America to discuss his latest single “UP,” the upcoming season of American Idol and his highly-anticipated, first-ever Las Vegas Residency, which kicks off in just a few days on February 11 at Resorts World Theatre.
During the chat with Good Morning America hosts, George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts and Loutelious “T. J.” Holmes, Bryan was asked if his fellow Idol judge, Katy Perry, gave him any tips or advice for his upcoming residency in Sin City.
Bryan admitted that Perry hasn’t offered much advice, but she has been sure to cause “more anxiety” for the country hitmaker, by pressuring him about the size of the massive venue or the air quality in Vegas.
“No, Katy doesn’t help me at all, anything Katy does, she sends stuff to create more anxiety,” Bryan revealed. “She’s like ‘wow, big stage be ready.’ ‘Wow, get ready for the dry air of Las Vegas.’ I’m like Katy, you know… but me and her, even as years have gone on, we just have an even more fun friendship and a great working relationship.”
Katy Perry Thinks Orlando Bloom Has A “Man Crush” On Luke Bryan
The chart-topping superstar then joked about his bromance with Perry’s fiancé Orlando Bloom, which Bryan believes Perry is a little jealous of.
“[Katy is] really a little jealous because she believes that Orlando kinda might have a little man crush on me,” Bryan said while laughing with the GMA hosts. “Orlando came into Nashville and I had all these outdoor activities planned for him. So yeah, me and Orlando, our love is strong.”
The Georgia native also revealed to the GMA hosts that he fully anticipates that his “credit card will be in flames” as his mother, LeClaire, will splurge at some local shops while visiting Sin City.
Bryan previously confirmed that his mother will be attending his Las Vegas residency during a recent episode of CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown with Cody Alan.
“You better believe Momma’s coming to Vegas!” Luke captioned the video clip on Twitter.
“She’s already punched her ticket. She’ll be in Vegas,” the “UP” singer told Alan, before adding, “She’ll probably get fried catfish to the room. She’ll be smoking cigarettes in the room, so I’ll have to pay the no smoking charges. She’s coming to Vegas with bells on, she’s ready to rock!”

Bryan, who has 15 billion worldwide streams and 29 No. 1 hits, will take the stage in Vegas Feb 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 20, 23, 25 & 26. The 5,000-capacity, world-class theatre opened its doors last November. Tickets are on sale now at AXS.com.
In addition to Bryan’s upcoming Vegas shows, the superstar just-announced his 30+ city ‘Raised Up Right’ Tour, which will kick off on June 9 in Charleston, West Virginia. The trek will also feature support from Riley Green, Mitchell Tenpenny and DJ Rock.
“My favorite place to be is on stage performing to country music fans,” Bryan said in a press release. “So thankful every night when I walk out on that stage and know you are there to have a blast along beside me. It never gets old!”
The tour takes its name from the chorus of Bryan’s current hit single, “Up,” which is the sixth single from Bryan’s No. 1 album, Born Here Live Here Die Here.
