Grace Kinstler soared with a cover of Kelly Clarkson’s chart-topping debut single “A Moment Like This.”

On Sunday, May 16, the Idol contestant truly soared, truly shining a light on her powerhouse vocals. The contestant has been drawing comparisons similar to Clarkson throughout the season, so the cover inspired by her Idol, was the perfect choice!

Finneas praised her vocals as “incredible” ahead of her performance.

Following her performance, Idol judges swooned over Kinstler’s “full circle” moment.

“Grace you waited a lifetime for a moment like this,” Richie said. “I couldn’t help but just use that. You have thought of yourself as trying to be something unique. You are your normal, it’s totally fresh to everything else in the world, that’s what makes a star.”

“It’s always a pleasure when you Grace us with your voice,” Perry added. “I thought that was a I think you are a lot like Kelly Clarkson and she’s a bonafide mega star.”

“I look at the four people sitting over there and you guys are all superstars,” Bryan gushed. “You conduct yourself with such confidence. Your voice is vocal pyro, you don’t need pyro.”

“You gave us chills watching,” host Ryan Seacrest said.

Co-written by Jörgen Elofsson and John Reid and produced by Stephen Ferrera and Steve Mac, “A Moment Like This” is Clarkson’s debut single and a song that she released following her Idol win in 2002.  The track appears on Clarkson’s 2003 debut studio album, Thankful.

In addition to performing a stunning cover of Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This,” the Idol contestant also performed her debut single “Love Someone” as well as a duet alongside Willie Spence of Finneas’ “What They Say About Us.”

Additionally, Throughout Kinstler’s Idol journey, she has impressed the Idol judges and stole the hearts of Americans across the country with performances of Demi Lovato (“Father”), Jessie J (“Queen”), Gladys Knight & the Pips with Joss Stone (“Midnight Train To Georgia”), Sia (“Elastic Heart”), Ariana Grande (“Dangerous Woman”), Pharrell Williams (“Happy”), Disney’s Frozen (“In The Unknown”), Coldplay (“Fix You”) and Adele (“When We Were Young”).

Earlier in the season, Idol judge Luke Bryan praised Kinstler saying “This is the first time in four years that just someone singing made me cry.” While Perry gushed that the powerhouse singer gives her a “full wave of body chills.”
