Lukas Graham and country star Mickey Guyton recently shared a new track, “Home Movies,” a beautiful, reflective ballad that is featured on Lukas’ newest project 4 (The Pink Album). Listen to the nostalgia-laced single here.

“’Home Movies’ is a ballad, a duet that looks at life rather than love. The coincidence of boy meets girl and the retrospective understanding that life is lived in the present but understood backwards,” explained Lukas.

“Play ’em our home movies/ If they wonder who I was/ Even if they don’t/ Then play ’em just because/ Let ’em see the highlights/ And don’t forget the lows/ Everybody’s got a story no one knows/ So just let ’em play until the credits roll/ There’s a story, I didn’t know we’d write it/ However long it took, it’s an open book/ If you love surprises/ There’s a song underneath the silence/ You can hear the crowd sing the words out loud/ In just the right pitch,” the pair belt in the touching track.

“Mickey’s vocals really make the lyrics that much better. Not to mention the outer harmonies on the last 3rd of the song!” praised the Danish singer/songwriter. “My favorite line is from the chorus, ‘Everybody’s got a story no one knows,’ and that’s the truth. We all have our inglorious moments and obscure pasts to deal with and that’s what makes life so beautiful; when we manage to rise above the prejudice and make something unique of ourselves.”

Graham and Guyton recently delivered the live debut of their collaboration on Good Morning America.

“I met @LukasGraham about 3 hours before we sang “Home Movies” together for the first time,” Guyton wrote on Twitter. “In those few moments we laughed, shared pics of our families and talked about how powerful mothers are. That is who he is. Honored to have gotten the chance to share the stage with him. 🤍”

Days after delivering the live debut, Graham and Guyton teamed up once again to perform “Home Movies” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Last year marked seven years since Graham shot to stardom with a string of anthems that earned the love and admiration of fans across the globe. Hit tracks “7 Years” and “Love Someone” secured the singer three Grammy nominations, billions of streams and critical acclaim as he hit the stage for sold out performances throughout Europe, North America and more.

While in the midst of his success, Lukas’ found himself faced with a multitude of life changes and obstacles, including the loss of his father, having his own child and navigating his unimaginable rise to fame. Graham turned to self-medication and felt stuck in a creative rut. In 2020, he decided to get sober and shift his focus to his family and music. He began writing in the same rehearsal space, returning to his songwriting roots — the place that would become the birthplace of Lukas’ new full-length project.
