Tigirlily Gold released a countrified rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers.”
The country music duo, made up of sisters Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, took to social media on Tuesday (Jan. 24) to share an acoustic performance of their rendition of Cyrus’ chart-topping hit.
“Felt good to sit down and learn a new song after a couple months of being on the road!” Tigirlily Gold captions the clip. “‘Flowers’ by Miley Cyrus but make it Country.”
In the clip, Kendra and Krista are seen sitting on their couch alongside their dog performing their version of the massive Cyrus hit.
“I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don’t understand / I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can,” the duo sings on the tune’s chorus.

“Flowers” Is Miley Cyrus’ Latest Hit From Her Forthcoming New Album
“Flowers” is Miley Cyrus’ latest single, which is presumably about the demise of her and Hemsworth’s relationship. The track, which was produced by Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson, brings the theme of overall independence and self-reliance while the lyrics speak on the topic of Cyrus finding her own happiness without a lover.
In addition to sharing the single, Cyrus also released a music video to accompany the new tune, which showcases the chart-topping singer’s newfound confidence and being happy on her own.
Co-written by Cyrus alongside Aldae and Michael Pollack, “Flowers” will appear as the lead single on her forthcoming eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, which arrives on March 10, 2023. Endless Summer Vacation marks Cyrus’ first album on her label home, Columbia Records. The upcoming project will serve as her “love letter to LA” and a “reflection of the strength she’s found in focusing on both her physical and mental well-being.”
Tigirlily Gold Recently Released Their Viral Hit “Shoot Tequila”
The buzzed-about duo recently released a brand-new single, “Shoot Tequila,” co-written by Kendra and Krista alongside Better Than Ezra’s Kevin Griffin and David Mescon.
“We’ve been singing in honky tonks since before we could even legally ‘shoot tequila,’” the Slaubaugh sisters admitted. “Playing on Broadway in Nashville for years really affected our sound, and we always lean towards writing songs that have great live energy. ‘Shoot Tequila’ is our ‘Broadway’ song, and we want people to get excited, grab a drink, and meet us at the nearest honky tonk!”
The tune, produced by Pete Good and Shane McAnally, is an upbeat party anthem that’s reminiscent of the ups and downs of a toxic relationship that finds the duo giving into the temptation of the “bad influence” of a tequila-induced night.
“And it goes like / One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, more / If I had a little sense, I woulda stopped at four / ‘Stead of cursing your name on the bathroom floor / Swear to God I won’t drink tequila no more / But Mama didn’t raise no quitter,” Tigirlily sing on the track.
The song, which was teased on TikTok earlier this month and has amassed 7 million views and climbing, is the first taste of music from the powerhouse duo as they embark on a new musical chapter with their upcoming project.
Additionally, Tigirlily Gold are set to wrap their innovative 23-stop Introducing Tigirlily Gold: The Tour Presented by Lee® on Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Nashville. Each show of the trek benefitted Musicians on Call with a call to donation on stage, culminating in a livestream at the end of the tour that will go out to all Musicians on Call hospitals.
