Thomas Rhett gave fans another taste of what’s to come on his upcoming album, Where We Started, which will arrive on April 1, with the release of his latest song.

On Friday (Feb. 11), the country superstar shared “Us Someday,” a new song that was inspired by his wife, Lauren Akins

“For me, this song is sort of talking to Lauren at 19 years old telling her, ‘I know you think this is crazy, but I believe all of these things are going to happen for us.’ And now here we are, over 10 years later, and most of those things actually happened, which is just the wildest thing,” Rhett says. “I also love how different this song sounds from the rest on the project, it opens with just strings and a vocal. I hope people will listen and be able to relate with their own relationships.”

Co-written by Rhett alongside his dad Rhett Akins, Jesse Frasure and Amy Wadge, the track opens with a simple violin, which perfectly compliments Rhett’s vocal as he sings: “I do, with a ring on your hand / Raise a toast with some cheap champagne / Tears fall from your daddy on your first dance.”

Throughout the tune, Rhett predicts the future of he and his now wife’s relationship, which he says most of the things mentioned in the track have actually happened.

“But I can see us together / My love, that’ll be us someday,” Rhett sings on the chorus.

Following the release of the new song, Rhett shared an acoustic performance clip on Instagram.

“You guys have probably noticed by now that I love to share music with you in the moment, as it’s being created,” Rhett wrote. “I posted this song I wrote for @laur_akins back in September of 2020, and now #UsSomeday is available everywhere. Hope y’all love it.”

The just-released track was first teased by Rhett in September of 2020 on social media and fans swooned over the song, so Rhett decided it was time to officially release the heartfelt tune on his new project.

Rhett is no stranger to writing romantic tracks about his wife of nearly 10-years. In fact, the country hitmaker has shared several songs inspired by his wife, including “Die A Happy Man,” “Star Of The Show,” “Vacation” and “Life Changes,” among many others.

In 2021, the country hitmaker also teased an unreleased song, “Madly In Love,” another tune that honors his wife, which you can hear in the below clip.

“Us Someday” will appear on Rhett’s forthcoming sixth studio album, Where We Started, and follows his recently released songs, “Angels” and “Church Boots” as well as his top 20 and climbing single, “Slow Down Summer.”

Where We Started is available for pre-save and preorder now HERE.

Continuing the momentum leading into his highly-anticipated new album, the reigning ACM Awards Male Artist of the Year has earned fresh nominations for Album of the Year for COUNTRY AGAIN: SIDE A and Male Artist of the Year.

Additionally, Rhett recently announced his massive headlining trek, dubbed the Bring the Bar to You Tour, which kicks off on June 17th in Gilford, NH. Produced by Live Nation and presented by Dos Primos, the trek will visit 30+ cities throughout the United States with special guests Parker McCollum and Conner Smith.
