Nick Carter and Jimmie Allen joined forces for a brand-new song that serves as a tribute to their wives, Lauren Kitt Carter and Alexis Gale Allen, respectively, as well as their children.
The Backstreet Boys singer shared his solo single “Easy” featuring the GRAMMY-nominated country superstar, who Carter said he is a “big fan” of, on Friday (Feb. 11).
Co-written by Carter and Allen alongside Vic Martin, “Easy” finds the two singers crooning over everything that they admire about their wives and all they do for their children.
“I swear that you got something special love / That comes from up above / I’d never give you up / ‘Cause you make this / You make this look easy,” Carter and Allen sing on the song’s chorus. “You make this look easy / Oh-oh-oh / You make this look easy / Oh-oh-oh / And how you do everything with style and grace / I thank God that you’re for me, yeah yeah yeah / ‘Cause you make it easy to love you.”

Carter recently told Country Now that he is “really happy” where the song went.
“It’s something that I can dedicate to my children and my wife and it’s something that maybe they can look back on too when they get older and listen to and say like, ‘oh, you know, daddy wrote that for us,’” Carter also told the outlet.

In terms of the track’s lyrics, the chart-topping singer/songwriter says (per CMT) that they are “literally about my life with my wife and children.”
The pair have filmed the music video for “Easy” in Las Vegas, which will feature their families, and will be released in the coming weeks. When the outlet asked Carter about the video, he couldn’t reveal much, but did say that it will feature performance clips intertwined with family fun in a desert setting.
When Country Now asked Carter if “Easy” is a part of a bigger country music project to come in the near future, he explained, “As an individual, I really never found my niche at all when it came to being a solo artist. I listen to everything, I love everything. I don’t know, I just would really like whatever I release to resonate with the people who listen to it. If they like it, and if they want more, it’s really easy for me – no pun intended – to get back in the studio and write more music like that.”
Carter continued, “I play guitar, I love country music, I grew up listening to country music. I’m a big fan of it, and it’s in my soul – but there’s a lot of music in my soul. So, I kind of got to satisfy a little bit of all of that. But, if people like it – if they resonate with it and if they connect with it, I would totally do more.”
“Easy,” which marks Carter’s first official country song, is set to appear on his fourth studio record to be released sometime in 2022, according to Genius.
