Jimmie Allen and Grace Kinstler teased a brand-new duet called “What You Been Through.”

On Tuesday evening (July 19), Allen took to social media to share a black and white video clip teasing the new song that he co-wrote alongside the Season 19 American Idol finalist, Cameron Bedell and David Pramik.

In the clip, Allen is seen sitting in a California-based recording studio with the track’s co-writers.

“Don’t matter what you been through / something bout you can’t undo / undo / but I’m still gonna love you / I’m still gonna love you / nothing’s ever gonna change my mind / don’t matter if it takes time / that’s fine / ’cause I’m still gonna love you / still gonna love you / don’t matter what you been through,” Allen and Kinstler can be heard singing in perfect harmony in the clip on the recording.

Listen to the teaser clip of the new duet below.

While Kinstler didn’t post anything on her feed about the tune, she did take to the comments of Allen post to say, “Grateful to work with y’all!!” alongside a prayer hand emoji.

Bedell, the co-writer and producer on the track, also shared a video teasing the collaboration earlier in the day.

“When you’re sleeping but Jimmie Allen and Grace Kinstler need you in the studio,” a caption read as Bedell pretends to wake up from a sound sleep. He then runs through the hallways of his home to the basement where the recording studio is.

“This is why I love the Sunset Marquis in LA,” a subtitled reads as he enters the “famous Nightbird Studios,” where he sees Allen and Kinstler in separate recording booths singing.

The clip ends with Allen saying “We here,” as Kinstler is seen in the sound booth recording her verse and ad libs on the chorus.

While it’s unclear how the pair officially met, it could’ve been during Season 19 of American Idol when Allen performed alongside Cecil Ray and Alanis Sophia as both of their celebrity duet partner.

Kinstler, who moved to Los Angeles after Idol to pursue her career, has been working on new music with Alessia Cara’s team. Throughout the process, Kinstler has been sharing snippets of new songs on TikTok in addition to soaring cover of popular tunes.

Allen recently released his new album Tulip Drive and is currently gearing up to hit the road with Carrie Underwood on the Denim & Rhinestones Tour, which kicks off in October.

The Delaware native, who also appear on Idol during Season 10 where he finished in the Top 40, enjoys helping Idol alums. He served as a mentor on Season 20 and recently invited Idol winner Noah Thompson and HunterGirl to use his stage time at CMA Fest to perform their debut singles.
